Living the Dream

The house is nice and has fantastic views from the back porches. It is at the top of the mountain which means a very winding road. It is not within walking distance of the town. It's pretty quiet but surrounded by other homes which is hard to tell from the pictures.

The house needs a good, deep cleaning. It doesn't smell clean when you walk in. It is dusty and the carpet downstairs was stained with pet urine even though pets are not allowed! The kitchen and bathroom rugs were dirty when we arrived. You couldn't tell which blankets/pillows were clean. Most of the pillows were stained so we did not use them. We went to Walmart and bought a few pillows. There needs to be some general maintenance. The back porch door lock is broken. The furniture on the upper back porch is old and could use replacing. The disposal was also broken so we could not put anything down the sink. Both back porches were dusty but there was no broom provided so that we could sweep it away. There are a lot of cobwebs throughout the exterior. We were only given 4 rolls of cheap toilet paper for 6 people for a 5-night stay. There was no Kleenex provided. Really? There were 2 dishwasher tabs and a very small dish soap container. We did report these issues and someone from the cleaning company came and gave us some supplies. She also sprayed the carpet downstairs to help with the pet odor. Hand soap was provided in 2 of the 3 bathrooms. Again, we went to Walmart to make up for the deficiencies at the house which shouldn't happen when you are paying $600 per night.
