About this house rental
La Palleira, as we call this old haystack, has two floors of 50m2 each. On the upper floor there is a living room, a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with a bathtub. On the lower floor there is a large fully equipped kitchen-dining room and a second bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom with shower.
The bedrooms and bathrooms have natural light. On the upper floor large windows replace the wood that once closed the haystack and offer views of the valley. The ground floor is built with thick stone walls. The result is a bright and cool space in summer.
Sharing the farm next to the Palleira is Casa Roxa, an old farmer's house that Palleira was serving and which is also rented (accommodation for 4 + 4) on a temporary or permanent basis. Outside there is a garden, still in the process of planting but very pleasant. There are tables and benches for outdoor dining.
The really unique thing about these houses is their surroundings; They are located within a relatively large estate (6Has) in the valley of a river that flows near Miño. There is an old water mill, a river island planted with hydrangeas, forests, roads and grasslands. It is relatively common to find forest animals and the vegetation is typically Atlantic, ferns and mosses on the shady margins of the river, wild flowers in grasslands, mushrooms in season and diversity of trees in the forests. The place is great for walking and organizing picnics, breakfast and outdoor meals and in the garden there is enough space for both homes.
