La Beauté Bắc Hà

La Beauté was simply the best place where we stayed on our 1 month trip in Vietnam. The house is beautiful and the environment is so peaceful, we even extended our stay. Tinh and his family were also super helpful and kind at all times. Tinh even arranged our transportation from Sa Pa to get there and finally to Ba Be after our stay. The food was also great, the best in Bac Ha by far. We also enjoyed Bac Ha which is way less touristic than Sa Pa, mainly with visitors coming for Sunday market. Saturday was also nice with concerts at the market square at night and a horse race in the afternoon! Other days you could arrange activities with La Beauté or simply relax at the house and play with the cat and dog :) You can also reach the town by walking if you don't have a motorcycle and come back to the house by moto or taxi if you are tired. This is a place we would really like to come back, so we can definitely recommend it.

The staff is special. The location is tranquil. The food is delicious. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We were welcomed with smiles and tea & biscuits! It was wonderful to be out of town (not too far out). The meal we had in the evening was one of our best meals we have had in Vietnam, & the breakfast was generous & set us up for our long day's bus trip. Teng helped book our bus trip on to Ha Giang, which went seamlessly (he checked our progress on the road to make sure all was well-!). We had our laundry done & enjoyed an evening stroll around the neighbourhood. Our room was large & spacious, & looked out over the fields below. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Beauté, & could easily have stayed longer.

There was nothing we didn't like! But perhaps some hooks in the room would be a welcome addition? Travelers love hooks!

The beautiful view, the staff was super nice. It's about 5 minutes from the market by moto.

There were small animal poop on the bed sheet, holes between the shower (shared) and wc, which may be problematic for women. The proximity of the dormitories with some rooms make it very noisy. The bed mattress is hard. Water was stopped randomly. It could have felt authentic, but instead it felt as if some things were bad on purpose to feign authenticity.
