Quiet and private location. Lovely views. Very spacious and clean. Super comfy beds.

Quite sparsely decorated. No milk for a cup of tea, not even long life milk after a long journey. Luckily we had brought our own just in case. No soap or shampoo/conditioner (just a little portion would have been nice). Linen a bit skimpy. Couldnt seem to get the aircon to work properly and we were quite cold. And disappointed we couldnt access TV4 Sky Go (the free one, not Sky Sport) to watch the Rugby World Cup Final - had some odd decoder (USA?) and the remote's batteries were flat. Freeview would have worked a treat. Also very small Bachcare sign and no actual number at entrance to property so were a little doubtful we were at the right place.

The view from the property was stunning! Plenty of room for our family. Three toilets was a bonus

It looked like the place had not been vacuumed. Potato chip crumbs on the floor, dead bugs, flys and moths by the window areas. The batteries in the tv remote were flat. The drive to the property needs to be signposted more clearly. The bachcare sign is small and partially covered in grass.

Really really love our stay there! Comfortable, luxurious, and close to all the amenities!

The location is quite close to the Stables Matakana which is the wedding venue we were attending a wedding and also very close to the town where we can go to the farmers market with less than 10 min drive. The place is really flash and luxurious, very comfortable, and really clean.

The driveway up is about 1.3km from the bottom of the driveway so had to be quite careful when we drove up especially in the dark because some parts of the road are smooth while some parts are gravel road. The last turn into the house is a bit sharp so just got to be careful. I found the bed a bit soft but that is because I'm pregnant so I needed more support for my back.

Fantastic place but hardly had basic essentials

Susan (the Bachcare manager) was nice and lovely. She responded quickly to our questions and our needs. The place has plenty of space for a family or group of friends. Very close to Matakana Farmers' market. There was no heat pump, but their DVS system makes up for it. It was so secluded and has a very beautiful view. Great to do some star gazing at night as well.

There were hardly any cooking essentials. No cooking oil or pepper provided, only salt. There was also no milk in the fridge. No rice cooker, I had to message Susan (the hotel manager) and asked if we can borrow one, she was really nice to lend us one and sorted it out the next day. Also, there were no shampoo and conditioner as well in the bathroom, only hand wash. It would be great if these things were mentioned beforehand especially for a big group like us, we could've prepared better. No rubbish bin in there as well. The wifi connection was really slow. Our group was barely connected but still slow. I don't know if because the place is so secluded. Also, we found some bugs in two of the bedrooms too.
