Terrible Experience (noisy, broken appliances and smelly)

The bed was comfortable but thats it.

I had a booking from 26-30th December. I checked out at 5:45pm on the 27th due to the following issues: 1. Noise from neighbors - the room has no noise cancellation and it felt like I was living with them. Downstairs reception did nothing to resolve this even after I contacted them yesterday. They said they would tell them but nothing happened. The noise carried on until around 11pm, so I had to sleep when they slept. That's inappropriate as I sleep at 9pm. 2. The bar fridge isnt a fridge and doesn't cool down anything. I asked reception to do something about this and they did nothing. I phoned again and a couple hours later (9:44pm) they came to my door. 3. Steam room and sauna are broken. I came to this hotel to relax, study my masters, gym and make use of the swimming pool, gym and sauna. Why are they broken and why am I paying for something thats broken? Additionally, the pool is closed from 12-2pm for ladies (I get that) but also from 2-3pm for lunch??? Makes no sense. I'm paying for this service as advertised on your website and booking.com... 4. Reading lights are broken so how can I read in bed). I'm paying for this service as advertised on your website and booking.com...again. 5. The room smells like cigarettes. I dont smoke and I couldn't sleep as someone (I'm assuming the neighbors) were smoking and the smoke came through that door that separates us physically. I'm highly disappointed as your reviews online weren't that bad. Maybe I got the unlucky room but still, it was emotionally frustrating and draining. Chris

Pleasant stay in Time Express hotel

I recently stayed at Time Express Hotel in Sharjah and was very pleased with my choice. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, which made the experience welcoming from the start. The hotel was clean, the room spacious, and the bed very comfortable. I particularly appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which allowed for proper rest. The location was convenient—close to Al Khan Beach and surrounded by numerous restaurants, cafés, and small shops for everyday provisions. The hotel offered a reliable internet connection, which was essential for my work, and overall, the stay was excellent value for money, especially considering that it was not too expensive. Another positive aspect was the flexibility regarding breakfast: it was optional and available for an additional charge, which I found to be a very good arrangement for guests who prefer alternatives.

On the less positive side, the lighting in the room was disappointing. Both bedside reading lamps were broken and not functioning, and the overall lighting was very poor. Since it gets dark early in winter and my room faced another building with little natural light, this was quite challenging for reading or working. Additionally, the hotel advertised a swimming pool, but during my entire stay, I was unable to use it. The water was not clean enough, and technical issues were not resolved promptly. I believe that if a swimming pool is advertised but not available, the hotel should offer a discount, as this would be fair to customers—especially given that nearby hotels without pools are less expensive. Despite these drawbacks, my overall experience was positive, and I would recommend Times Express Hotel for its comfort, cleanliness, friendly staff, and good location.

This is an excellent hotel located in the city center. The staff at the hotel's front desk are outstanding. They greet and see off guests with a smile every day, patiently answer all kinds of my inquiries, and provide the services I request. For example, when I was short of hangers in my room, the front desk even sent over more than ten hangers, which moved me a lot. The rooms are also very spacious and are carefully cleaned every day. The front desk staff, especially Ms. Janeare extremely excellent. I recommend that everyone must stay here when visiting Sharjah.

The hotel has a luxurious, classic charm that feels like a piece of timeless art. With a few minor improvements, it could be truly exceptional. The location is excellent, making it easy to get around by car or on foot. I definitely recommend it after some updates — and I wouldn’t mind paying more once they’re made

It was a good value for quality. You get all essential needs covered up. There are always bits to improve. Taxis are required to move around in the area and one should avoid pick times. Customer service should be reachable via Booking, something it should be checked out.

I could not access to the customer service from the hotel when I was in London to ask questions.
