Svartaborg

the perfect accommodation. spacious, clean and the owner clearly thought many things through. towels were soft and very clean, toilet in particular was very modern. going out in the dark to shoot aurora was less scary because of the motion sensored car porch light. the large glass windows in the living room helped a lot as i could leave my camera and tripod outside while i stayed in the warm comfort of the living room while my camera took interval timed photos. the landscape is sufficiently lit at night in the foreground so the land is appropriately lit in the foreground while there isn’t much light pollution.

It was absolutely beautiful start to finish! The location was so serene and perfect for seeing the northern lights. The house was so beautiful - everything about it was so thoughtfully considered and it really felt like such a wonderful and relaxing retreat. The private geothermal hot tub under the stars was just incredible.

The property was so clean and modern the little details made it so homely. Rosa & her husband made us feel so welcome and there was no problem they wouldn’t be able to fix.

Nothing!!

The location, the view, the surroundings The interior is nice but getting old The bedroom bed was comfortable Hosts very nice and responsive

The bathroom was dirty (as shown on my pictures) The bathroom window door was broken, but they fixed it quickly. The couch was not comfortable at all to sleep on… so I would only recommend going there if you are a couple. If you have kids, they won’t sleep really well. But the worst of all and most disappointing thing was the hot tub !!! It could be perfect but it was a nightmare and actually spoiled our stay… What we like when we are in Iceland is get up early and jump in the hot tub straight away (or do the same after a long day hiking)… well… forget it there !!!! The hot tub needs to be drained after each bath and it takes about 45 minutes to fill it again… and another 30 minutes to cool down because it’s above 42 degrees… it’s really dangerous for children. our kid cried every morning because he couldn’t bath… we tried to leave a bit of cold water at the bottom to fill it faster but it didn’t work… It’s really a shame because it’s so peaceful when you are soaking with birds around you…
