Not to be repeated

The room was big, the bathroom very big. All seemed to be clean. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was fine.

The bed was broken. First we thought that just the mattress is a disaster, but when looking under it, we saw that two slats had fallen of. As it was already late, we fixed it ourselves as well as possible, but the mattress still had a huge sagging spot in the middle. In the bathroom closet there were some dirty ladies' underwear and I couldn't avoid thinking that perhaps someone works in the room regularly. In principal a nice little hotel, but we definitely won't be back.

It was modern, fresh and tastefully decorated. Our room was delightful with two balconies. The breakfast room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. On a nice day, we could have sat outside.

Nice boutique hotel close to the airport.

Rooms are convenient and the hotel offers a nice alternative to the big hotel chains.

Expect it to be a little bit noisy because it is so close to the airport. But you can’t have both proximity and total silence. 🤷‍♂️

I would not book it again.

There was a strong smell of a cleaning product in our entire room that was so pungent it gave me a headache. What was really upsetting though was that I asked the hotel to order me a cab to the airport which is 3-5 min away. They did and it was on time but when I got into the cab and greeted the driver he shushed me because he was on the phone and didn’t want the other person to hear us. Upon arrival at the airport (3 min, basically no traffic) he charged me 39 Euro and I realized he never turned on the meter. I know Zürich is expensive and I paid 29 Euro the night before to the hotel (which includes some airport fees or whatever) but when I asked about why it was so expensive, he shrugged and got defensive. Long story short: Sketchy taxi service, reflects badly onto the hotel.

Location

Roaches in the bathroom. Some kind of mix up with upgrading a room. “Upgraded” room was the same standard room which according to the staff is “not that much to pay for” and “it’s only for one night” is a good enough excuse for the booking mishap to be okay to them.

mattress was too soft and uneven. Toilet seat broken, room was too hot to sleep without air conditioning

There was no air conditioning and the alternative they had was a very tiny fan suitable for a study desk. It was clearly not comforting for a single person let alone the two of us. On complaining about the same and to request one more fan, they kept suggesting we open the windows but that only led to small flies coming into our room. The bathroom is also dimly lit and tiny. Do not recommend this stay

Clean, modern and affordable accommodation. Short Uber ride from Zurich airport, staff were very friendly and accomodating, lovley breakfast too!

The only negative is that there is no air conditioning, so the rooms were very warm on humid days

A truly comfortable and enjoyable stay

The room was perfect—spacious, very comfortable, and clean. The beds were excellent, the bathroom was huge, and the balcony offered a peaceful view of a quiet neighborhood. The breakfast was quite good, with all the essentials including coffee, juices, and more. I will definitely choose this place again next time!

Nice property in close proximity to Airport

Proximity was the airport was a big convenience, the rooms were large and they were clean, I had to leave early in the morning for my flights so put some grab and go breakfast in my room a. Day before which was well appreciated. Property does not have air conditioner which was a downside specially in summer months.

This was a beautiful roomy facility with very limited and difficult parking.

The room was large with three French doors for ventilation. The location and staff were excellent.

The parking was paid but the lot was so small that we had to request staff to move cars so we could park on the second night. The maid was still in our room when we arrived at 5 pm on the second night. The room had a portable fan in the closet but no table near the bed near an outlet. We were able to use a chair from the balcony for the fan. Since there was a kitchenette with a cooktop, sink and refrigerator, it also would have been nice to have a microwave and dishes.

We were delighted with The Gate Boutique Hotel. It was very convenient, quiet, and the staff were very nice. The room is quite compact, but very well designed for maximum comfort. We loved the private outdoor deck and the breakfast was amazing!! Well done, Gate Boutique Hotel!!

I did not have the breakfast because I had to leave too early. I liked the location because it was close to the airport, and there were not a lot of planes flying overhead, and when they did fly over, I didn't mind because I like airplanes.

The room could be roomier, but I'm also used to American hotel rooms that are bigger.

Nice, but beware of the hidden fees

Even though there was a sofa bed in the room as we booked for 2 adults and 2 children, staff asked us a fee of 95chf so set it up for us which really sounded like a bad joke (we did it ourselves in the end…) Not the easiest location with public transportation, you still have to walk approx. 500m from the tram station with all luggage and stuff. The extra charges for a crib (35chf/ night) is outrageous Breakfast only served from 7am with no option if you leave earlier

The information that it was a short walk from Zurich Airport wasn’t quite true. It would have been really useful to have had instructions such as ‘exit the airport in direction of The Circle and hop on a 758 bus to Glattbrugg. Your hotel is an easy 2 block walk from there’.

Kind of a weird (but enjoyable) stay in the Penthouse

Breakfast was very good

We stayed in the Penthouse and my biggest issue would be to have - more understandable light switches and lamps by the bed - The switches that controlled the lights in the bedroom, the closet and the bathroom was the same switch and it was unclear how to control each individually - in addition the same switch controlled the louvers of the bedroom - weird. It would have been nice just to have one lamp on either side of the bed in the main room with a simple method to turn on and off. We really enjoyed the outdoor balcony especially when the planes weren't taking off.
