The room itself was acceptable for one night.
The landlady was, in my opinion, quite rude. Right after I entered the apartment, I texted her about the bathroom door having no lock and asked what should be done. Since it was a shared bathroom with another room, I expected her to fix it or provide a solution. Instead, she told me to use a chair to block the door (!) and implied that I might have been the one who broke it, even though I had only been there for five minutes. She also said that since the place was cheaper than a hostel, I shouldn’t complain about anything. Later I noticed the lock had been 'repaired,' but it was such a poor, makeshift fix that I suspect someone from the other room did it - not the landlady.

This is a good value for money, suitable for someone doing a quick stop over (as I did) or wanting to stay a few days.
The hotel was easy to find, only a short (and relatively flat!!) walk from Brignole FS, the instructions were easy to follow and the room easy to access. Everything inside was bright and cheery, definitely adequate for a stay (especially given the price!!)
Everything was as advertised, the flat has two bedrooms and shared facilities which were all kept in a good condition.
Worth noting-
- The details to check in are not sent until check in time (5pm) so you would need Internet access to check in.
- on the day of arrival you will be asked to arrange a bank transfer/paypal for the tourist surcharge (€3 per night) with a comment that this has to happen before you can get the check in details.
-As I think others have commented the bed has a bar down the middle, if you sleep across the bed this may be uncomfortable, I slept like a log personally!
-Not all the stairs have rails. (See picture)
There was only one bath towel in my room, no bath mat other than the 'communal' one in the bathroom, and no hand/face towels. The bedding only had a thin cover, I managed, but imagine many others would find this cold.
The bathroom lock could use updating, the lock to the bedroom worked but required a bit of muscle.
No handsoap.

This apartment is quite basic but has everything you need to stay for a couple of nights. The location is really convenient because the metro/train station is just a pair of minutes away. You can easily travel to any part of the city and even to other cities. Marta, the host, is also very nice and helpful. She is very responsive and will help you when you have questions or issues. It was always a pleasure to communicate with her. The neighbourhood has a lot of decent coffee shops/cafeterias, and a 24/7 grocery store is nearby. Just be advised that the walls here seem to be rather thin, and you will hear quite good what your flatmate is doing. Anyway, I recommend staying in this place rather than in a hotel to get a more "local" experience.

near metro station
the way the owner deal with client is strange . the room i booked was empty when i arrived and i was tired from long tiring travel but the owner insisted that i must check in at 5 pm .she told me if i wanted to check earlier i have to pay . i refused .finally she accepted that i check in at 4 and half
on the day of my arrival i asked her to leave my small bag until the time of check in . she refused.also at the last day of my stay, i asked her if i could leave my bag until the evening she said no
. the flat is on the main street , so it is very noisy from the high sounds of cars .i had to close the windows to be able to sleep. it was cold inside the room . i asked the owner to turn on the air condition she said no

Nothing at all
The property as I seen on booking was totally different from the real room -WC door was with our handle ,there is no locker on the room ,room was not clean ,kitchen items was really dirty .if I allowed to take pic and share with you the evidence I should do that exactly unfortunately I didn’t took pics.i need reimbursement of the 2 night stay

Location is a bit out of the main town but not too far in all honesty and also perfect for me as I was travelling from the station the next day and was only at the bottom of the street.
Kitchen adequate enough.
Bathroom fine
Room big enough and had a fan.
Supermarket just around the corner
If you follow the street numbers, and walk to the number - you're at the wrong end of the street! If at the supermarket end, it's the first door on your right opposite the cafe. Landing so late and being tired maybe added to me not being able to follow instructions clearly.
There was no internet at all - router just didn't work.
Need to ensure guests in other room don't put the dead bolt across and only use the yellow key - meant I cd not enter at 1130pm and was tired. Luckily knocking woke them up to answer the door.
Reviews of others are true about the bed - it's not the comfiest and the slats do fall out. Cd be so much better if beds were improved.

Location
Total disgrace of a room. No wifi even though advertised. The beds are horrendous, you can feel the bed frame when you sleep/sit due to a disastrous mattress (not even a real one but a sunchair mattress), stained bed sheets, toilet door is broken in a shared apartment, no carpet near shower. If you have a lot of heavy luggage, avoid also due to 3 floors of long winding stairs and no available lifts. Communicated with the owner to provide wifi on multiple occasions but she ignored our texts on all instances.

The host was very rude when we were trying to get in the building. A lot of the slats for the bed were broken which made it very uncomfortable. Outside the apartment is very loud if you want to sleep with the window open

Nothing
My friend almost hurt himself with the broken fan which is without cover and just the blades. The bed is broken and consists of only 3 legs so you sleep inclined. The room was not cleaned for months. There was moist on every corner of the room. We actually used the room just to store our luggage and had to sleep outside on a bench because it was more comfortable and less dirty. Worst experience ever.

The only good thing was the location. Very good if you have an early train like us.
The pictures are definetly better…
The bathroom was not very clean. No mat, so you would get all the bathroom dirty just by exiting the shower. The room itself was big enough for 3, but it was also quite dirty. Moreover , it was over 30 degrees in Genova and there was no aircon nor fan in the room and it was impossible to sleep.

The cost was low and the location was close to the railway station
The facilities were very poor - no kitchen sink, little space for preparation. The room was not very clean, the fan was broken as was the bed - I needed to fix this before I could use it.

Emplacement parfait, accessible en transports en commun.

What you get for the price is really good! You're able to walk to the centre and you get a private room. I also stayed in a hostel in Genoa, but it was more expensive than this private room
The check in is only at 17h which is late and it wasn't really clean.

we couldnt hear the other person staying
No fan in the room, it was so unbearably hot. We opened the window to let some air in and it was so noisy as its a busy main road next to us. 4 flights of tiny narrow stairs. No mirror in the room. No toilet paper. There wasn’t much within walking distance.

The metro and bus stop were nearby
The pictures are very old like the house itself so the place does not look like in the pictures. There is mold in the bathroom. We had instructions for the wrong room, very hard to get there up.

it was close to the train/metro station Genova Brignole
Ávoid it.Especially women with a children! you can easily be injured with a damn stairs or broken gas oven without kitchen extract! This looks like completely illegal.I´m using booking.com over 15 years and i´m very dissapointed that they promoted this with a special safety sign, this damn hole with a zero helpful and very agressive owner ! Lie has a short legs, remember it!

Very good accommodation for a low price. Comfy beds, clean shower and the room is not stuffy. The overall space is compact and small.
Plain pillows.

Near the Central station
Bedsheets were full of stains and weren't clearly changed after the previous guests.
Room sound isolation is also non existent (we could hear the other guest as if he was inside the room, the street was also very noisy).
Beds were also very squeaky and noisy

Good Location... horizontally. Horrible location, vertically! (Up many steep stairs... I did not penalise for this in my review, though. The host warned me about the many stairs beforehand, but it does seem like this could be easily placed in the Booking.com listing.)
Communication with host was... rough. It was like a puzzle to get into the apartment. And for some reason, I wasn't sent this puzzle until right before I checked in--- a time when I had clearly indicated in previous messages that I wouldn't have internet access to be able to see any communications. Wifi in apartment stopped working after 3 or 4 hours. (Around the same time the other person showed up, though that's probably a coincidence.) Gas stove needs a lighter to ignite - maybe this is normal in some places, but this is a pretty big safety hazard and I was concerned about it when I needed to cook.

We could not get into the room. We had to stay outside. The hostel was in a suspicious neighbourhood and we could not find the door. The instructions for the room was unclear.

the location was good
unfortunately our room was nothing like it was photos at all which would of been fine but that just added on to the list of things that weren’t good. the kitchen was hardly a kitchen and has no sink meaning we had to wash our dishes in the bathroom sink furthermore that sink was blocked from all the food people had washed down there so we had to start washing our dishes in the bidet…
the bathroom itself would’ve been fine if the hot water system actually worked half of the time and there was someone that would come to clean it.
I didn’t expect our rooms to be cleaned but there was no one who came to empty the rubbish or clean the shared bathroom, by the end of our stay we ended up with an overflowed rubbish bin and a bathroom mat that was so dirty and gross we didn’t even know the last time that it was cleaned. the bedroom was a wear room with a locked door it was extremely dusty my brother is allergic to dust mites and was up constantly throughout the night struggling to breathe.

Kind of cheap.
The sheets were clean.
Near to metro and Bus station.
The kitchen and refrigerator were unbelievably dirty.
The check-in is unfair (from 17 o'clock.)
The building is located next to a very busy street. It's very noisy day and night.
The garbage bag was not changed even once.
The toilet was not cleaned even once.
The room was not cleaned well.
The toilets were very dirty. The person who lived in the next room (who was probably not a tourist) didn't bother himself to clean his mess.
All the dishes in the kitchen were greasy and dirty.
The heating system was off. It was freezing at night.
No wifi.

I have not noticed, but upon arrival realized it’s an entire apartment with everything you’d need! despite of the house looking what not old from the exterior, inside it was lovely and classic! Hot water straight out the shower, bathroom clean, everything was immaculate. Location was SO CLOSE to the Centre it felt like I was in there. Train station 3 MINUTES WALK extremely accessible, made it super easy to catch my train at 5:40am next morning. Host is very responsive, answers straight away and I felt accommodated. street outside was also very cozy with all the lightbulbs hanging over it
We could argue the location is next to a main road which makes it quite loud, but simply closing the window has solved this situation! However, I preferred to fall asleep to the ambiance of the city with the window open.
