BEAUTIFUL, QUITE COUNTRY LOCATION

Host was very kind and got back to me when I reached out. The only issue we had was the description of the home wasn’t accurate. It was listed as “entire home” but it’s a basement apartment that is directly connected to their home. My husband and brother in law were the ones that stayed, and they both said if they had been there with their families they wouldn’t have been very happy. I’m sure the hosts are loving and safe people, but in today’s world you never know. So having full transparency from the beginning on the type of property would have been nice. But the property was clean and host was very kind and responsive. The listing was just inaccurate.

We had a wonderful time at Shar and her husband's home. They went above and beyond to be gracious hosts. My sister brought her dog with her. That dog did not like being alone at home. She became pretty noisy, so Shar asked if they could take care of her while we were at our function in town. The house was clean and tidy, with a beautiful backyard for the dog to run around in. We were grateful for their hospitality.

I want to preference this with the property owner was super friendly and nice but the stay was not what I expected. Maybe I confused a couple of listings that I was looking at but I really thought this rental had a separate entrance, I also remember reading about the decor but maybe it had changed because I didnt see the things that were discribed.We arrived around 10pm and went to find the entrance and key to get into the basement and while looking for it the property owner came out and waljed us into her house and downstairs where we would be staying. She was super nice. She then showed us around and stayed for a minute talking with my 6 and 8 year old that we were trying to get started in the shower and off to bed because it was so late. She then went upstairs and we noticed that we were unable to even lock the door behind her. This made us a little uneasy, not because of the owner, just because of it being late already and dark and not really knowing where we were. The beds were very comfortable but smalled than we were expecting. The shower was very roomy and the towels were very soft. Had we gotten there earlier in the day i am sure I would have alot nore good things to say but we showed up, showered, went to bed, woke up, got ready and left. We have used VRBO a few times and have always been happy with not having someone there where we have felt that we need to be extra quiet (with the 2 boys that can be a task). Overall I would feel beter with a lockable door.
