Beautiful Dollhouse in Hydra

Wonderful place in Hydra. Perfect for a family. Dishwasher and washing machine essential if you want to live in the house daily. Very nice living room, tastefully furnished. Air conditioning in all the rooms. My daughter was amazed. We enjoyed the beautiful terrace for both aperitifs and dinners. It has the advantage of being shaded from 6 p.m. onward. Two bathrooms then are very comfortable. Ideal for up to 3 or 4 people. If ,like us , you cook at home having two supermarkets next door is very convenient. You can reach Castello Beach in Kamini in 10 minutes via the road inside the village and Hydra center from the opposite direction in 5 minutes. It is basically in the middle of the two most important centers on the island. Superlative experience, I do not understand the low rating of the first guest. I invite you to look for a whole house in Hydra during high season (not a double or triple room, whole house) that has two separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, a comfortable living room, a lovely kitchen where you can have breakfast in the morning, a large and comfortable terrace equipped with a table and benches for aperitifs and dinner, complete with a dishwasher and washing machine for €200 per day. Hydra has become very expensive over the years and many have taken advantage of this without offering the quality you would expect. Dollhouse, on the other hand, has what you expect and much more. I have been coming to Hydra twice a year since 2010, and this is the first time I have seen such an offer. I would say that anyone writing a comment on this page should take this into account. it's being a beautiful place to stay, the owners are the most honest on the whole island for sure. we would love to come back !❤️

We loved just about everything! Hydra is a really magical gem of an island and the Doll House is precious! It is a real family home and you can feel that in the decor and the charming collection of cups, glasses, bowls etc. The beds are comfy, aircon is great. What is really special about the place is the deck that looks out over the island - the only sound is donkey's hooves clip clopping. It is quite and really peaceful up in the Dollhouse - which we found a lovely reprieve from the busy town centre for afternoon naps or pre-dinner drinks enjoying the sunset. An added bonus is there is a lovely little grocer a few meters from the house so it is very convenient to pick up extra water, crisps, yogurt etc. I should note that the Dollhouse is situated quite high up in the town so you have to walk up quite a few stairs and it is a little walk (under 10 mins!) from the main town center. We actually loved this about the accommodation as it took us away from the loud revellers walking past at all hours and it gave the place a lovely calm and privacy - however if you have mobility issues this place would not be for you. The host was friendly and helpful throughout and we had a really special stay.

These are nitpicking issues and would not dissuade me from booking again: This is an all/most Hydra issue: the sewage system is quite old so bathrooms can be a bit smelly if you don't really look after it all. We came for a wedding and we would have loved a full length mirror somewhere in the property to checkout our looks from head to toe! We had some confusion finding the person to take up to the house upon arrival - after our long flights this was not a great start. However when we finally connected and he shirpa-ed our luggage up to the Dollhouse on this donkey our frustration soon dissipated.

Spacious house, huge terrace with dinning table and sofas, very well equipped kitchen, perfect located very close to the main village but still in a quiet part, a small market next door.
