The location is excellent—safe, walkable to cafes and less than 20mins to CBD. For the quality of the accommodation and the convenience of the area, the property offers very good value for money. I would happily stay here again.

The owner of the house is kind and the house itself is big.

Read the description very well! You book a room in someone's house. He is living there. You share the bathroom with them (also all his stuff is there) and you can only use some stuff in the kitchen like the microwaves. It's also written "Deluxe Queen Room". But there is not a lot of deluxe. You got a little room with a bed. And for all of this, I think the price is too high.

This is good except misleading advertising.

No breakfast.

Swimming pool is not as shown in the photo, very small. This advertisement with the swimming pool is very unfair. Image is not real and it is misleading marketing strategy.

It was good, and a bit different than the other places.

The host was exceptionally friendly, and the place felt warm and homelike, just as other reviewers had described. Everything was tidy and well-organized. Since we were only there at night (two nights) to sleep and shower, we didn’t get a chance to use the swimming pool or shared lounge facilities much. The house is quite close to the supermarket, local restaurants, etc.

The listing wasn’t very clear about the shared kitchen and bathroom, it felt a bit ambiguous from our perspective. That said, it didn’t bother us much. The setup was quite different from other places we’ve stayed, as we were actually sharing the facilities with the host and other guests. It feels like we were in a hostel. The bathroom could get a little busy during peak times, especially with six adults using just one. Overall, though, it was an interesting and unique experience.

Swimming Pool VilIa was a perfect 2 night introduction to our holiday in New Zealand.

We liked the flexibility and hospitable feel of the home. Our plane was cancelled so we didn't arrive until 2am and that was OK. When we emerged next morning Joni, our host, encouraged us to 'make ourselves at home' and that evening we had a lovely conversation with her. The house was spacious, clean, comfortable and with some wonderful.phitos on the walls. It was also in a quiet neighbourhood where it was easy to park.

A few more general.directions could be helpful. For instance, the way to the downstairs garden and pool wasn't obvious. Aside from that there was nothing not to like!

Nice place, hard bed, confusing booking details

Liked the location

Beds were rock hard. We were warned about a party the day before our stay. We were given the option to cancel or put up with the noise but with it being such short notice canceling the day before was not an option. It wasn’t clear on the booking that it was a single room within a house with shared amenities

Cleanliness and issue. Used tissues, empty Potato Chips bag and pair of old shoes under the bed. Spider webs in the corners of the bathroom. Bath in bathroom was filled with brown water and left like that for a day-and-a-half. The Caretaker indicated she put special herbs etc in the water for her to bath in. Seeing the brown water in the bath was not a good first impression

Great location and parking

Two beds, one in the main bedroom one in the living room. Main bed was very hard and the sheet was stained so we decided to sleep in the living room. As soon as I got in a cockroach jumped on me, gave me a fright and I flicked it towards my husband who managed to catch it and dispose of it. Obviously came in from outside as the gate/fence area was covered in them. A sofa bed or just a sofa in the main living area would be a much better option as nowhere to sit except on the bed to watch tv have a drink etc. Fridge was very noisy (we turned it off overnight) and had trailing cables covered by sellotape. Butter tub was already used, if you want to provide butter get the individual packs instead. Bread again was just some slices in a bag (unsealed). Again give the whole loaf sealed or don't bother. Lastly the connecting door between us and possibly another room(unit) had gaps around it, so the light (which was on all night) shone through, you could also hear people the other side, plus hear running water etc made for feeling a very unsafe environment. Won't be staying again.

Stressful experience - not child friendly

There was air conditioning in the room

I had my 7yr old with me and we were made to feel like an inconvenience the whole time. There is now a "no children under 10" on the ad. He was actually such a gd kid but he dropped crumbs and the owner went round behind him with a cloth, he had his drumsticks with him and he taps them together and he accidentally tapped the wall a couple of times not hard at all and he got a growling for that. We happened to be there when it was a State of Emergency during the flood and was told I would need to plan and find somewhere else to stay if it went on past our check out so instead of exploring etc I was worried about that and trying to find somewhere. We had no food so I was grateful that I could catch a ride with her to the supermarket as uber and taxis weren't showing up. Once I'd made the booking a message with all these rules were sent to me so beware of that. Also, there must be two parts you can stay because you can't actually use the washing machine, there isn't a tv in every room, no free toiletries and there is a note on the shower asking you to wipe it out after use. Thankfully my sisters friend rescued us. I paid for 3 nights but only stayed one, asked for a refund for at least one night and was lucky enough that this will happen. Oh and the bed is hard as a rock if you like that.
