This is the second time we have stayed in this lovely mountain home. Perfect location! Very near grocery stores, restaurants, golf courses! Aspen an easy drive and such beauty! The spectacular 7 Castles is your backyard and the Frying Pan is an easy walk! The house is so comfortable and lovely! We were there with our family and new 2 week old grand baby. So much room to spread out and the furnishings are beautiful! We love this place and hope to come again! Alice is a great host and very helpful!

Communication with Alice was very good and she greeted us upon arrival! The Basalt location was perfect for us because we were visiting our son in Carbondale, but wanted quick access to Aspen and fishing on the Frying Pan River. I was hoping the house was directly on the river, but right across the street was pretty nice. We enjoyed the wildlife including turkeys, that visited the back deck every evening. Honestly, the house was a little too large for our group of five, but everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. All in all, we had a great experience, the house was well appointed and our children had a blast!!

It was perfect for our Aspen/Snowmass ski vacation. The house had everything we needed and more. Loved the drive along the river, the wildlife sighting, the hot tub, the peace and quiet. Great kitchen for preparing meals. Comfortable beds and furniture. More space than 7 adults could even use, although we tried! Alice was easy to communicate with and very responsive.

Nice home, breathtaking views, heated floors and extremely cozy.
Cons
Broken coffee maker pots, water separates after sitting and leaves residue floating and on cup, hot tub jets broken, doors wouldn't lock extremely easy to enter home uninvited, spare bedrooms/apartment is entirely separate from the main home and not exactly ideal for family members you want close, especially considering the doors won’t lock and front door is incredibly difficult to open most of the time.
In summary, amazing place, needs a week of maintenance and would be 4-5 star stay, which makes it slightly more annoying that for the price it would be so simple to fix all the issues with the home the guest just has to put up with.
