This charming seasonal cottage dates back to the 1940s. It still maintains much of its original details and rustic charm, which is balanced nicely by its freshly whitewashed interior, comfortable amenities, welcoming decor, and brand new cedar outdoor shower.
Thoughtful touches like picnic blankets, beach towels, and even a record player and albums make this cute cabin an easy place to call home during your Berkshire vacation.
Situated at the edge of the woods on a shared, dead-end drive, the cottage offers the perfect place to get away (and possibly even see some wildlife!) while being just minutes from Lenox and Stockbridge and walking distance to the lake beach. And, when the wind is just right, you can even hear the faint sounds of Tanglewood's music drifting across the lake on a warm summer night.
Note from the owner: We have so many happy memories at 'Elandee,' named after our two daughters, L and E. We hope that if you choose to stay, you have an enjoyable and memorable time here, too!

For the amount we paid a night we expected this house to be a lot nicer. The first thing to note is that while from the photos, it looks like it is by itself in a field, it is actually on top of a number of other houses and there is a house directly in front of it. We were disappointed with the condition of the place - it all needs a coat of paint and some TLC. The couches were stained and we saw about a dozen spiders on the walls and in the eves. Of course, this is a country house and there will be bugs but it just looked as though no one had cleaned anywhere besides the kitchen and bathrooms for a long time. We also noticed mouse droppings around the home and saw mouse traps so assume at some point they had an issue with them. Again, not a huge problem but for the price we paid we expected a MUCH nicer, cleaner home. They obviously are good at marketing themselves and the pictures on here are very deceptive. Would not rent again.
