About this house rental
La Ponderosa is a lovely cortijo with a large garden and private pool (6m x 9.5m). Located just outside Padul, the largest village in the beautiful Lecrin Valley. It is a very private house set on the edge of the protected "Laguna de Padul" wetlands, with lovely views of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
The accommodation is made up one double bedroom and one twin. The dining/ living room is open plan with direct access to the kitchen.
The detached house is surrounded by grape vines and fruit trees, with a traditional patio shaded by a large Pergola. There is a barbecue and table and chairs for eating under the stars! The large swimming pool and sunbathing terrace have beautiful views across the countryside.
Situated between Granada and the Costa Tropical and with excellent road links, everything the area has to offer can easily be reached by car. The beaches of Costa Tropical (30 minutes), Granada with the Alhambra Palace (15 minutes) and Sierra Nevada ski resort (45 minutes). Wifi internet connection.

A very nice spacious casa, all rooms of a good size, very private, with lovely outdoor space with various seating options. The pool is fantastic, large and clean. Antonio looked after us very well.

Had a fantastic stay. The property was all we could of wished for. The pool is fantastic and maintained and cleaned to a high standard. The house had all we needed. Outdoor area was a highlight and opted to stay in and eat more nights to make the most of the lovely outdoor area. Granada is only 20minutes away. We hired a car and also visited Salobrena which was a lovely beach resort. Nearby village of Niguellas also worth a trip and had a lovely meal overlooking the hills. Our favourite day was visiting nearby Sierra Nevada and getting the gondola and chairlifts where we could cool off from the heat wave.The hosts were very friendly and helpful if need be. Would reccomend. Thankyou for a great stay!

We had a fantastic family holiday in La Ponderosa. The house is small but is comfortable, very clean and well-equipped. There's no air con, but by using windows, curtains and fans we managed to keep the sleeping temperature bearable despite the heatwave conditions.
The big garden and pool are the best features of the house. We spent many happy hours playing, relaxing and eating outside, enjoying the views over the mountains and valleys. The whole garden area is a lovely green oasis which is totally private and secluded.
We considered staying on the coast for this holiday but are glad we decided to stay further inland. The Lecrin Valley is beautiful and peaceful, and Padul is near the amazing city of Granada and the mountains, but still within easy reach of the beaches of the Costa Tropical. There are plenty of amenities in Padul, and a bigger supermarket a short drive away in Niguelas (which is a lovely village to visit in its own right, including for mountain walks).
Last but not least, Hermy, Antonio and family are excellent hosts: they're friendly and attentive but also go out of their way to enable you to enjoy your holiday in peace too. ¡Gracias por todo!
