About this house rental
Welcome to Black Bear Lodge — where the earth meets the sky, the eagles soar, and the stars feel endless. Perched in beautiful Sapphire Valley, this spacious 6-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom home offers stunning views and room for the whole family to relax and unwind.
The main level features two primary suites, each with king beds, while a third king suite is located on the second floor. Also upstairs, you'll find a cozy den with a TV, a queen bedroom with an en-suite bath, and a full bedroom with its own private bath. The top floor is perfect for kids, offering two twin beds with trundles and plenty of space to play.
The well-equipped kitchen boasts granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a bar that seats three — perfect for casual breakfasts or evening conversations. The laundry room is conveniently located just off the kitchen.
The living room invites you to gather around the stone fireplace, with plenty of seating and large windows framing the scenic mountain view. You'll also find a wet bar with a mini fridge and a TV, making it an ideal space for entertaining.
Step outside onto the deck and enjoy meals at the outdoor dining table, surrounded by the beauty of the mountains.
This home comes with the option to purchase Sapphire Valley Resort amenities. These amenities are not at the home. They are in a separate drivable location. You may join for $5/day or $25/week per person. Your amenity card will allow access to 2 outdoor swimming pools, one indoor heated pool, 2 hot tubs, wet sauna, exercise room, arcade, ping pong, outdoor miniature golf, horseshoes, basketball courts, tennis/pickleball courts, playground, track, picnic tables, community center, organized excursions to Cherokee and the Biltmore House in Asheville, a 9 hole (par 3) golf course, Zip-Lining, High Ropes Course, Fairfield Lake boating amenities and discounts on ski lift tickets and ski equipment rentals during the winter season.
Your reservation includes a damage protection plan. The damage protection plan is $50, and it covers up to $3,000 in damages. In lieu of purchasing the damage protection plan, guests have the option to choose a refundable security deposit. If you would like to pay a refundable security deposit, please contact us. The security deposit is $500 and will be administered subject to the NC Tenant Security Deposit Act.

My extended family stayed in this house through the new year. The house is big and there are several different areas for groups to gather and play games, watch TV, etc. The views from the multiple decks were incredible. The gas fireplaces worked well, and the outdoor fire pit with stocked wood was wonderful. The management company made it easy to check in and check out.

We had a wonderful stay at this house for a last minute family getaway. The house design allowed for groups to have plenty of space and room to spread out. The game room downstairs was a HUGE hit with the kiddos. Wifi was strong for the area and the kitchen was well stocked for our needs. Only complaint / request would be for more seating on the lovely porch to enjoy the view! Would rent again!

The house is as described with 6 bedroom/5 bath and is great for a large family or multiple families. 3 master suites which is nice. Lots of room and close to the town of Cashiers. Incredible views. The only negative was the renovations that were underway. Looks like there are new owners and they are making improvements. Didnt bother us but I can see where this may bother the tenant looking for perfection.

We are accustomed to renting properties for our group and were very disappointed in the cleanliness and accommodations. We had 8 adults and outside there was a table and four chairs. This house had 6 bedrooms and it was so surprising to see the lack of outdoor seating.
A couple of the bathrooms were dirty with toothpaste and hair in the sinks, and one closet had no light bulb. The porch windows looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in months. Dead flowers were left in the dining room. The newel posts had so much dust, you could write your name in them. You would of thought with COVID being so prevalent, extra attention would have paid to those areas. We contacted the management and they tried to get someone to come and clean, but it was going to be 2 days, so we said never mind. We. Leaned it ourselves. We were given a garage door opener, it didn’t work. We met the neighbor and were told there was a cleaning crew there most of the day. Not sure what they did. The bar area had absolutely nothing in it. No wine glasses, no drink glasses and no wine or bottle openers.
