Upper Marcam House

Location good and the property has been vastly cleaned since our last visit when it was a bit dusty. It's not perfect and could use some air fresheners etc, but it was at least properly clean this time.

It's a bit dated but I knew that and booked on location. Not everywhere is brand new, so it's fine.

Good location, great view over harbour. Has washing machine and tumble dryer which was useful due to heavy rain etc! Was quite clean. Had everything you could need. Plenty of space and very quiet.

Quite dated with tired furniture and decor eg Whicker furniture which needed a good clean, curtains needed hanging properly and needed ironing. Marks on walls . Bed was very firm!

Location was gorgeous and the house itself is lovely - particularly the top room with its view of the harbour

We stay at home-stay type locations all the time and are comfortable that you often need to provide your own amenities - that being said we were very surprised to find absolutely zero bin bags, half of a roll of toilet paper, and the majority of the cleaning and laundry expected to be done by ourselves (particularly during COVID when i would have thought having cleaners would be a priority and the price we paid certainly would have covered for this cost). I was also very disappointed with the overall customer service - the central line took nearly 10 minutes and an inordinate number of questions to find my reservation when all we wanted to check was with the local office whether our property was ready to check in or not. In the end we gave up and had to visit the office 3 different times to be able to check in.
