Chalet Raufthubel

The owner contacted us immediately after booking and as check-in day was approaching gave us instructions how to find the apartment and key. Kambly Matterhorn Swiss cookies in the dining room and candy on the beds greeted us. The location was fine it is close to the Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp cable and the Hotel Eiger. The key was easy to find and the apartment was very clean with a hot shower and good flushing toilet. We found the kitchen and dining room perfect for cooking and eating for two people. The bedroom was quiet at night and the bed comfortable. The apartment is very well insulated closing the windows reduces almost all noise and we never heard neighbors. The apartment does not have a air conditioner but we were there during a heat wave in late June and even after cooking dinner the apartment did not get hot. The WiFi was very strong we had no problems connecting many devices. There is a dishwasher which was quiet and worked great. There is a laundry washer and dryer machine that are separate in the basement but we did not use it. The balcony has views of the mountains great to see in the morning and evening. Hiking trailheads are at both end of the town and in the middle. The Coop for groceries is in the middle of town. This apartment definitely made our stay in Mürren even better it was so comfortable.

The apartment bld is above/next to the town's maintenance facility they start around 6-7am M-F. When we arrived on a Monday the grassy open area across from the apartment bld was being mowed for most of the day. All the utensils were clean and new. But, we wished there were proper size beer glasses all the glasses were small (my husband's only complaint about this apartment ;>) and a pasta spoon to scoop up spaghetti noodles. The large bedroom pillows are very flat. We ended up folding it over to make it firmer. We stayed for a week and had 2 body, hand and wash towels each this was fine for us. However, I am very sure if you needed more pillows or towels they would have been provided if you let the owner know.. we were too busy.

It was new, clean and very functional for four people

The only thing I would suggest is to either make the washing machine free to use or have a card payment facility on the machine as it requires the exact coin/ change which at times late in the day is inconvenient trying to find someone in Murren with exact change

The location was great. View of Eiger and Jungfrau from the balcony. The apartment was modern, spacious, with tasteful decor and furniture. Exactly as described.

Use of the washing machine and tumble dryer should be included in the rental price. We think rubbish disposal and recycling should be the responsibility of the host not the guest.

Location was excellent. The apartment was wonderful!!

There was nothing we didn’t like. The apartment was perfect :)
