Gould City Lakefront Hideaway w/ Dock & Rowboat!

The cottage was a nice size. There were plenty of beds. It has a bath and a half. The lake was right behind the cottage. Very convenient. The lake was beautiful. It is a good size lake but small enough that the water was cool but not cold. Nice sandy bottom. No muck. The cottage was quiet and felt secluded. It had all the basic kitchen items. Coffee pots, toaster oven, toaster. Fridge was very cold. They had a kayak and paddle boat which we enjoyed. We were able to park very close to the front door which helped with loading and unloading.

The few things that we didn't care for. We had to supply our own sheets, towels, toilet paper, coffee, etc... I was told there is well water and that we might want to get bottled water. But it wasn't just well water it was very hard water. The smell when showering was very strong. The absolute worst thing were the animal droppings. (Poop) It was everywhere. Absolutely everywhere. And new piles showed up every morning. All around the cottage, down the walkway to the water. One morning our little beach was covered with droppings. To clarify, these were not birds in the tree size droppings. Much bigger. More like Geese or possibly raccoons. I never saw the animal/s but on the day we left when we were loading our van we had to keep reminding each other to watch our step. Watch for poop. Belatedly I noticed a rake I used to clear some of it away. Lastly, this is no fault of the property owners but the U.P. as a whole was infested with mosquitoes. You cannot go outside for even 1 minute without being swarmed. So bring bug spray. Lots of bug spray!!
