Beautiful room, and great onsen.
The completely impersonal experience of check-in, and check-out. The fact that the guests above our room partied until 4:30 AM, keeping us awake, and there was nothing we could do about it. A very expensive room became a place where we could not sleep for a night. When we complained to the contact person the next morning, he said sorry, but really, that just was not enough when you pay this kind of money for a good night's sleep. At the least, someone from management, or the owner should have been in touch to advise what had been done to ensure the party was not going to continue the next nigth.

very modern and good heating
Beppu onsen on the balcony, very nice.
the fact that there is no staff and they send you constant emails to communicate and let you know what you should do or not.
Very bad isolation, we could her our neighbors' conversations
