Really lovely hotel and great location for exploring all parts of the island

We decided to stay here as we wanted to explore all areas of the Island, it’s located in quite a remote area with very few restaurants near by yet still one that’s a walkable distance (6mins) definitely recommend renting a scooter if your here. It was ideal for what we wanted and was a beautiful place to stay! The staff were really lovely also and picked us up from the port and even took us to get breakfast before getting to the hotel

Peaceful and remote

The most beautiful thing about this place is undoubtably the garden which is extensive and lush. It was delightful to lay by the pool and hear the birds. The cabin themselves are very nice spacious and luxurious. I appreciated the quietness and serenity of this place.

As others have mentioned, the major drawback of this place is its remoteness. This in itself wouldn’t be an issue but there was almost nowhere to find food and supplies in the area. I was only told after I arrived that the guest house was not offering food so I was, at least on one day, stranded there in the monsoon rain without food. The local Warung is okay, but you can’t eat there every day.

Incredible experience!

Hidden paradise in the middle of the island. Staff amazingly friendly and welcoming. Really good food, with big portions and well cooked by the staff! The entire garden is so beautiful that you could stay at home all day and admire the view and enjoy the peace and calmness of the forest. The pool is high and relaxing if you want to stay at home. The room is amazing and big. Comfortable bed. Big and clean bathroom (but with little to no light, so it's not easy to see). The curtains are thick and blocks all the light. No annoying sounds during sleep. Maybe the position is not the best... but on Nusa Penida every place is like this, so if you want to relax in the middle of the forest and you're not in a hurry to see every cliff or attraction of the island, then this is the perfect place. Take into account that you'll have to ride with motorbike for around 20-30 mins to reach some attractions or some good restaurants (if you don't eat there from time to time).

Worth it

Although the location is far from the beaches, it's worth it for the beauty, great service, and good food. I would definitely return and recommend it. It's a quiet and peaceful place, perfect for relaxing after a long day.

An exceptional spot to base yourself on Nusa Penida - the location is incredible and surroundings spectacular.

The location is unbelievable - you are very remote surrounded by the jungle. There is beautiful wildlife, butterflies galore.

The rooms are simple but have everything you need! A few bugs about but that is to be expected when staying in the jungle.

Little heaven in middle of Penida!

Little haven in the middle of the island. The bungalows are very nice and the lush garden would make any botanical gardens in the world jealous! Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to stay away from the crowds. I spend 3 days with my partner there and the experience was amazing!

A must stay!!!

We don't know where to begin! Without a doubt the loveliest place we have stayed in our lives. The serene peace with the beautiful gardens, pool, incredible accommodation and that's not even mentioning the fabulous staff. They went absolutely above and beyond for us, were the friendliest hosts we have ever met and truly would return just for them! Food was delicious and the price was cheap (5k coffee 30k breakfast). Couldn't have asked for more! Thank you everyone, we will definitely see you again! Very helpful with everything from harbour pick up and drop off, assisting with a great scooter and snorkelling experience, all at an awesome price (cheapest on the island)

Rooms and surroundings

Location is too remote for an island like Nusa Penida. It’s difficult to drive in the night without lights from places with restaurants and activity so you kind of have to ensure that you get back early.

A perfect place.

The location is nice. Also it is surrounded by lavish greenery. Staff is also nice. They arranged scooters immediately.

Nothing such. Only thing is, Vegetarian food isn’t available. So plan accordingly. Anyhow, You can search for Indian restaurants which are available at the distance of 12-14 KMs. Food timings are till 9 PM in the evening.

Beautiful garden with dragonflies flying over the pool during the day and bats in the evening. Surrounded by nature. Completely quiet. If you're not scared to ride a scooter it's a perfect location to see everything that the island has to offer. 20 - 30 minutes drive to all the amazing beaches and views. Family that runs this place is super friendly. They have new scooters for rent. Food options limited but all delicious.

Amazing host (drove me to hospital & would not let me pay)

We loved the beautiful, spacious & clean cottages with comfy beds. The location is great for accessing the spectacular beaches on the South side of Nusa Pemida without too much driving. But the really, really exceptional part is the service by host Wayan and his family. Their friendliness sttuck us immediately, although we'd already been spoiled by 3 weeks on Bali. They helped us rent mopeds & get laundry done and made meals whenever we needed them. And then... I fell in the bathroom, hit my head and fainted. Wayan drove me ~50 minutes to a clinic & back, waiting for 2h while I was treated. And he refused to let me pay him: such an incredible host!

Thw only thing I can think of is that there was no free dronking water, unlike the other places we stayed at.

This was one of my best stays within travelling 6 months. The rooms are very clean and the bed is comfy. The very firendly owner created a little paradise in the middle of the jungle. You are right here if you are looking for a quiet place. It is a good place to start tours arround the island.

we had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The hospitality is exceptional and you feel really valued as a guest. The cottages are very comfortable and we really enjoyed that there are only five cottages so you feel secluded.

There some minor things the owner could change about the interior (clothing hangers, extension cable so you have a power output at the bed).

We loved our stay at The Tukad Gepuh. It’s a beautiful jungle oasis, so peaceful and yet still only a 30 minute scooter road to most of the attractions. The person in charge, Wayan, is always so friendly and helpful. He arranged a lift for us to and from the harbour, scooter hire, manta ray snorkelling tour, and delicious food from the hotel restaurant (the fried rice is so good!) Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone visiting the beautiful island of Nusa Penida.

the gardens were beautiful, the room was clean and very comfortable, the location of the property was a little far from the main strip but that was perfect for me as i wanted to relax and this place was so quiet, only the noise of nature. the staff were very welcoming and helpful. couldnt fault this stay

The pool in the jungle and the traditional cottage style. Very good price and super well in shape and clean.

The had not replied to my messages and calls to inquire about how to get there. The location is very remote so would be nice to offer some kind of fpod to buy in the accommodation. We were very hungry when we arrived and without car/scooter it is impossible to go anywhere.

Paradise

The place is magical, in the middle of the jungle. Comfortable large bed, large room, hot water in the shower. There is a nice clean swimming pool and a very beautiful garden. The staff is great and very friendly.

Beautiful garden and bungalow. Nice and attentive staff. Comfortable and clean room!

Wi-fi connection was poor in our bungalow. The staff said the router was placed in bungalow 2, so I assume wifi will be very good in bungalow 1-3. We needed transportation to the port, but had to pay for it even though it was supposed to be included. The hotel helped us book a ferry trip to Gili Meno through a friend of the hotel. It was supposed to be direct, and only 1,5 hours, but it stopped both in Pantang Bai and Gili T, and took 3,5 hours. Not the hotel's fault, but please tell your friend providing correct information is very important. We thought we got a good price, but it turned out it was not that good considering the long trip. I wish there was a breakfast option, as finding breakfast on Penida close by can be challenging. The staff still provided us with a simple breakfast even though it was not a service "on the menu", so that was nice of them. The road from the main road into the hotel was very bumpy and difficult to do on a scooter. All in all we had a good stay, and will return if the WiFi has improved!

Очень красивая территория, бассейн прямо посреди джунглей, красивые домики. Очень приветливый и приятный персонал.

Очень высокая влажность в домиках, двое кондиционер не спасал. Из-за этого и запах в туалете. В одном из наших домиков (мы забронировали два, так как нас было 4) были большие муравьи в ванной и в постели. В постели немного покусали, но мы посмотрели они не ядовитые.

Sehr saubere Unterkunft, großes Bad, schöner Balkon und top Hotel Anlage (sehr naturnah und schöner Pool). Personal war Mega nett.

Es gab wenige essen Optionen dafür dass weder Supermärkte noch andere lokale in der Nähe liegen. Zudem liegt die Unterkunft sehr ungünstig auf einem Berg. Roller fahren ist sehr anspruchsvoll dort aber zwingend notwendig, anders kann man sich garnicht bewegen.

Beau séjour

Le jardin exceptionnel très bien entretenu avec sa piscine. Le logement bien propre. Le peu de logements qui offre un côté intimiste.

L’accès à l’établissement scabreux surtout en scooter! La poubelle des toilettes pas vidée pour nos 4 nuits. Le manque de bouilloire thé/café à disposition que l’on a trouvé dans d’autres logements plus modestes.

Struttura immersa nel verde di Nusa Penida, perfetta per chi vuole vivere un momento di tranquillità assoluta, lontana dal caos. Nel complesso buon rapporto qualità-prezzo.

Purtroppo i cuscini avevano la muffa, come accade spesso in Indonesia. La quantità di insetti e zanzare era molto elevata a causa della posizione dell’alloggio. Potrebbero pensare di mettere le zanzariere almeno nella porta di ingresso della stanza. La scelta del menù è stata veramente scarsa.
