Stunning palazzo, incredible attention to detail, a mix of old Italian and African folk art, antique furniture with very modern amenities, flooring etc.
Our host, Dr Franco, is an exceptional human being, full of stories and good advice. He looked after every detail from check-in to daily breakfast, which was of an unexpectedly high quality. Rooms were immaculately clean

At the center of L'Aquila, easy walks to everywhere
Surprised there was no parking (not very clear description on Booking). However, Dr. Franco helped us secure street parking near-by.

It’s 2 blocks to the piazza del duomo, everything is walkable, yet it’s secluded and quiet. Our room was very comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. The host, Franco, asked each day about what time we wanted breakfast the next morning and was ready with fresh pasty, fruit, etc,and made café as requested. Outstanding. We were able to drive our very small car, a Fiat 500, to the property and find street parking nearby. The parking was tight and our car was damaged by another driver overnight.
Our only struggle was that our host spoke no English at all. My Italian is limited, but both of us were quite patient and we were able to communicate the necessities.

Bed was large and comfortable and the property was centrally located. Breakfast was excellent and host was very friendly.
The entire house is outfitted with vaguely "African themed" decor, which leaves a very uncomfortable atmosphere. The host's pet bird is kept in a very small cage and cries incessantly.
