Tenerife Paradise 01 Chalet House

Buscábamos una estancia rural, tranquila y fue lo que encontramos, un lugar precioso, apartado, pero cerca a la vez. Los atardeceres fueron una belleza. La piscina fue un extra que encontramos, así que más de lo que buscábamos. Nos quedamos en la cabaña 107 y estuvo perfecta en espacio, equipamiento y confort. Fueron un par de días estupendos. Hay un sendero muy chulo que hicimos desde la finca hasta el pueblo de costa, San Juan de La Rambla, que también es un lugar bonito que visitar.

Quizás por mejorar, el olor a humedad en los dormitorios, pero al menos para nosotros, no fue gran problema.

A quiet, peaceful place, a small paradise on earth. The loudest noise most of the time is distant waves and birdsong. Our high-roofed cabin had an amazing balance of aircondition-free cool & comfortable temperature all day, and pleasantly stable temperature at night. Great starting point for beautiful walks down to the ocean or in the countryside & surrounding farmlands, and a markedly friendly attitude from locals whenever entering a local shop or pub in one of the small nearby villages. ( and even more so if one tries a few Spanish words :-)) Note that this cabin is a self service type stay, but there is good homemade meals to be bought/ordered, and they were nice & helpful regarding some food intolerances we have. They even gave us a coffepot for free a time or two when we were in lack.

Only some small confusion on arrival due to slightly erratic communication-lines via third party company, but we were well taken care of within minutes once that was cleared up. If you are looking for spotless brand new everything in bathroom & kitchen this might not be your favourite, but to us that means next to nothing. Everything works, and the amazing location is worth a 100 times more than a bathtub without a scratch.

If you need peace and quiet, this is a good place, a short drive away from the big tourist centers (a car is a must if you're staying here). We had a big terrace with a lovely view, and a possibility to use the pool, sauna and restaurant (we didn't so can't review them). House was clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen was well-equipped for cooking, a few more plates would be appreciated, though. It was nice having lovely outdoor spaces for resting and all our questions were replied promptly by email.

I did miss meeting the people who run the farm, it felt strange they never introduced themselves to us. The house is old and dark, with a slightly musty smell, and it could really use renovation - the bathroom was functional but with big rust marks in the bathtub, the bidet was leaking, the terrace table was covered in rust... They have a big car park but some parts of the road might be a bit stressful if you're not an experienced driver. The terrace wasn't cleaned when we checked-in: the cushions were covered in gray animal hair, and the ashtrays were left dirty (we don't smoke).

The staff were super friendly and helpful. Especially the volunteers who were on site to help clean up the hotel and make it a nicer place. Without a friendly staff this would have been a one star review. Stunning views of the sea. Has real potential.

The beds were rough... really, painfully, firm (and I have a firm mattress at home). The water pressure was a joke. If anyone else was using water on the property we had a drizzle in the kitchen sink, and weak in the shower. Wifi would go in and out but mostly worked. We specifically booked because it had a nice pool and supposable well-known brunch on the weekends. Arriving on the 23rd late we had hopped to take advantage of the brunch the next day. We messaged the via booking.com and were told it wasn't an issue, just speak to the manager when we got in. However, when we did we were told there hadn't been a brunch in months. Furthermore, in the 8 day were were there there wasn't a pool to use at all. It was dirty, very dirty, they say from some storm they had but the grime on the wall that had likely been there for years. It was like a comedy errors... they couldn't get the pool empty due to clogged filter... when they did, they didn't have proper cleaning tools, and when they finally got it cleaned, they couldn't refill it due to issue with the hose and water tank. This place has potential but until it's sorted I'd probably give it a miss. Realistically you need a car. The "15 min walk" to the beach is a REAL hike down.
