The people working at Vila Gale were absolutely great. They were helpful, very generous, and friendly. They gave me a US/Brazil power adapter to use when I arrived late at night to check in, they gave me advice about where to find food and other items, and they were just lovely to interact with whenever I came and went. The location was unbeatable for access to the Paulista neighborhood. Highly recommend.
There was an online scam who contacted me via WhatsApp saying that I had to submit my credit card information for Via Gale or else my reservation would be cancelled. I nearly gave the information - but was suspicious - even as a foreigner. The scammer contacted me three different times saying they were with Via Gale and Booking.com and again, threatening to cancel my reservation. I can imagine other visitors very easily falling prey to this scam.

Very well located, very clean, nice and friendly staff.
Breakfast can honestly be improved, but next corner there's Bella Paulista 24x7, so no issue.

Great location, close to everything. Room was comfortable but did not have a real desk for working.
Did not like the fact that I needed to wait until 3 pm to get to my room even though the hotel wasn´t 100% booked.
Breakfast is kind of chaotic, they serve the coffee and some small stuff which creates unnecessary waiting time.
