Stylish studio on the 5th Ave of Playa del Carmen

The apartment itself is modern, stylish, and spotless. The kitchen had almost everything you could need — utensils, dish soap, a broom, and bathroom supplies. On the surface, it seems like a great stay. However, the noise situation is a major issue. Three different bars nearby blast music almost every night (except Monday and Tuesday). On weekends, especially Saturday and Sunday, it’s so loud you’d think a live band is performing right outside. After two weeks of disrupted sleep, it became exhausting. If rest is important to you, this may not be the right place.

The apartment is spacious, well sized and well equipped, offering plenty of space to feel comfortable. The cleanliness was excellent, which we really appreciated during our stay.

Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. There was no one to welcome us on arrival, and we had to wait until another guest entered or left the building in order to get access and collect the keys. We ended up waiting around 45 minutes before someone staying there could let us in. The apartment has a floor-to-ceiling window without blackout blinds. There are only very light curtains placed at the side of the bed, which made sleeping difficult as light came in constantly. We actually had to buy eye masks just to be able to sleep. In addition, there is an abandoned building directly opposite, with people able to see everything that happens inside the apartment, which felt uncomfortable and offered very little privacy. There are also two bars/pubs halfway down the street with loudspeakers outside. The noise was very loud and continued until around 3 am, making it impossible to rest properly. There is no clothes drying rack or any suitable place to dry wet clothes or even the hand towel, which remained damp and never dried properly. Only one hook is provided in the shower for towels. An extra hand towel should be considered for guests staying more than five nights. Some of the kitchen utensils are very worn. We would also have appreciated having an electric kettle available, especially for guests who do not drink coffee. Overall, we were not able to rest well during our stay.
