We had a wonderful time staying at Barbara's place. The suite is clean and comfortable with everything we need. My son had a wonderful birthday gathering with his friends who were camping in the area. The host is very friendly.

Wonderful accommodation. We’ll-deserving of a 5-star rating. The suite is private, completely self-contained, on a very well-maintained property with comfortable outdoor fixtures and lounging areas. Kitchen and bath (and entire suite) are spotlessly clean and roomy. Very comfortable king size bed. The hosts are absolutely wonderful: friendly, helpful, responsive, and living onsite but not at all intrusive during our stay. Will definitely come and stay again!

We booked this property looking for a few days of rest and relaxation — and boy did we pick the right place! This was just exactly the quiet place we were looking for. We spent almost all of our time on the property and could not have asked for anything more. Ron and Barb were fantastic hosts and we would recommend this property to anyone. We were very pleased with every aspect of our month long stay at Cowichan Calling. It was cozy on cloudy days and the spectacular views were a bonus on the sunny warm days. Golf is close at hand and the walking trails plentiful. We would highly recommend a stay at this lovely locale

The accommodation is very cosy and contains all the little touches that means you want for nothing during your stay. A peaceful area, close to the lake, with a lovely view of the forest. Hope to come again sometime.

This property was a pleasure to stay at. The one bedroom suite was well equipped and extremely comfortable. The kitchen had all the cooking wear and utensils needed as well as basic spices, sugar for coffee and condiments. This made it feel like a home and not just a hotel stay. There were board games and books available on the unit as well as games outside. I'd be very happy to stay here again on my next trip to Lake Cowichan.

This is a great rental for a couple - king-sized bed was very comfortable! But, my adult son said that the sofa bed was uncomfortable; that's my only issue. Otherwise, the hosts were super, and the rental was awesome.

This is a lovely suite, with every amenity you could want, in a great location. It was hot in Lk Cowichan during our stay, but this suite was fresh and cool. The new king-sized mattress that the owners recently added has spoiled us - we may need one of those now in our own place!! Five stars all around. We’ll be back.

Anniversary weekend away and it was great. Did some kayaking/SUP. Went for a swim and had some yummy lunches at Jakes watching all the tubers from the patio. Will come back for tubing soon. Enjoyed our stay at this property. Exactly as shown in photos. Very well laid out and modern. Well stocked kitchen which is a rarity these days! Had more than enough of everything you’d could possibly need. Weather was very hot during our visit but the suite stayed nice and cool. Bed was very comfortable and the area was extremely quiet. Highly recommend!

Relaxed getaway

This is a beautiful one-bedroom suite with everything one needs to feel at home: comfortable king size bad with new mattress (that was big enough for family with one small child), spacious bathroom, laundry room, kitchen with all appliances and dishes, and living room with TV for evening gatherings. We haven't used patio and BBQ, as we stayed while it was snowing, but I did check the backyard and have been entranced by the view. It reminded me of European, particularly Austrian landscape with a quiet town by the lake, surrounded with evergreen mountains. Barbara and Ron are great hosts. They helped us with the luggage as we had to leave our car down the hill (snow was too high for our SUV), and directed us to close hike trails. Beautiful camp site and summer beach is less than 10 minutes away from the suite so I guess staying here during summer would be even more rewarding. We plan to go back this summer and check it ourselves.

This quiet, clean and fully renovated suite was perfect for our getaway from the city. Both Barbara and her husband were readily available to answer any questions and were very respectful of our privacy. Upon opening the drapes one morning, we were pleasantly surprised to see the resident elk relaxing on the grass and grazing in front of our patio door!!

This was the perfect place to stay for us. Close to home but far enough away to get have a short vacation and relaxing time. Wasn't as close to lake as we thought it might be but was only a 5 minute walk to the marina. Bright, clean, and cozy space in spectacular location. Highly recommend and will be going back.

A friend and I came for a quick weekend break. The place was lovely and well appointed. As others have commented, it really has everything you need! I did sleep on the sofa bed and can say that (like a lot of sofa beds), it's a bit uncomfortable. The mattress is thin...the host might want to invest in a new mattress or a topper (just to increase the comfort level). The view from the property is great (it is a short walk up a steep hill from the town centre). :-) We had a wonderful and comfortable stay...and would readily come back again!
