About this house rental
Our finished lower level is like it's own apartment. This 2 bedroom, 1 full bath suite has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, fireplace & living room with a reclining sofa that can double as sleeping area. Our “hibernation bedroom”(super dark for day- sleepers), has a queen bed. The master bedroom has a king (memory foam)bed. We also have a reclining sofa & and air mattress, if you need one more bed. Save on your meals & enjoy our fully equipped kitchen. You’ll enjoy listening to the songbirds & watching our animals while relaxing on your private patio. We provide firewood to enjoy the outdoor firepit or the built-in wood burning fireplace. We're close to the local “Hidden Valley” ski resort, Six Flags theme park, hiking/biking trails and just a short drive to Purina Farms or downtown St. Louis. Up to eight people can stay here. However, if there are more than 4 in your group, there will be an additional $25 per additional guest fee. If you’re traveling with your pet, we have a fenced yard and charge $25 per pet/per reservation (cash upon check-in). We ask the animals are crated in your absence. If they aren’t crated and any “accidents” or damages occur, fees will apply. We look forward to hosting you during your travels

The house and property were very comfortable for the 2 ladies and 5 giant dogs who stayed there. It would be great for couple who share beds, many even with teenagers sleeping in the living room. It rained a lot while we were in town and that was a problem with us having 5 giant dogs going outside to potty and exercise in the morning and evening (we were at Purina showing all day). Maybe consider getting a Muddy Mat that is easily washable for the back door. The stained concrete floors were great for dogs!The host does have 2 mini donkeys and a horse that share a fence with the backyard. My dogs would bark at them but were not aggressive. The donkeys would come to the fence and didn't seem to mind the dogs, but some dogs might loose it over livestock being so close!The bathroom shower was great, but the room needs some hooks added to hang clothes and dry towels for reuse. I also wished the bedroom had a small dresser or suitcase holder. The closet was large with plenty of hangers, but I prefer to unpack my floded clothes too. The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare the 1 meal we cooked during the week. A cheese grater and pans with Teflon coating would have been great. We will look for this home the next time we stay in the area.

Debbie was very friendly and accommodating. My dog and I really loved the peaceful mornings on the patio, and talking to the donkeys and horses. The backyard was plenty big for my dog to romp around and sniff all the things.

Very quiet area. Close enough to shopping and dining. Debbie was easy to contact and made checking in and out a breeze. We have already booked our next stay there.

Big growling dogs that kept me from going to my car the first night. It was after 11:30 and I didnt want to bother the owner. Old worn out furniture that was very uncomfortable including the mattresses. Mold in the shower. Dirty oven with a white powder in the bottom of it.
