Come, enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Upper Long Lake in Northeast Indiana with a cozy cottage and gorgeous lake front views. Upper Long is a great fishing lake with many species of fish including Muskie, Bluegill, Bass and Crappie. Take a swim in the crystal clear water out to the swim raft, entertain in the large yard or sit around the campfire at night and tell stories. The cabin is equipped with 2 bedrooms plus pull out couch that sleeps a total of 5 comfortably plus a bathroom, open kitchen and living room with amazing views of the lake.

The neighborhood is very quiet and private. Within a couple miles there is a gas station & bait, a dollar general, carryout pizza place and ice cream stand. Chain-O-Lakes state park is only a 5min drive from the cottage.

Fort Wayne, IN is approximately 35 min drive. Columbia City, IN is approximately 25 min drive. Kendallville, IN is approximately 25 min drive. Goshen is approximately 30 min drive.

I saw reviews of the property that it needed updated. It is a fishing cottage on a fishing lake, and it is exactly what we wanted and expected. It had everything we needed, even some cast iron skillets! The cottage was cozy and comfortable. Our stay was during the week, but it was extremely quite and relaxing. We would most definately stay again.

Nice place for us to stay! Needs updated. We enjoyed the lake, paddle boat was great. Seen river otters, a raccoon turtles, lots of fish, geese, heron and very friendly kitties. Very quiet neighborhood, pretty much had the lake to ourselves. Beautiful setting!

We wanted a quiet place to swim, relax, have a campfire, get away from home, and play games with our two older teen sons. This was perfect. As listing describes, not overly spacious, but plenty of room for four. We also enjoyed the paddle boat, kayak and raft in the lake, porch swing, ice cream in town, and great lunch at Roll-N Smoke BBQ in North Webster - worth the drive. Stumbled on annual Dixie Days. Owner stopped by the house after we arrived (after checking with us) to make sure all was good. Very gracious. And Mother Nature put on an amazing lightening show for hours at night. Perfect get away vacation - Thank you for sharing your home!

The place was as described. Small, it it has everything we needed. We wanted to fish but didn’t catch much - a few bluegills and one bass. Anyways, it was good time on the lake and by the fireplace! Thanks a lot to Ryan for making everything easy!

We enjoyed a quiet and peaceful week at the cottage. It was HOT but thankfully the air worked great in the cottage. We took refuge in the lake every day. It would be great to provide a rake so swimming at the waters' edge could be more enjoyable (I'm wimpy) but we made do with some pool floats:) It was awesome just listening to the sounds of nature! We fished every day too but didn't catch much. Ryan let us park our fishing boat trailer at his workplace, very close by. The cottage has a Roku w/ Netflix - great for a rainy night. We cooked inside due to the heat, fires didn't sound like fun. Everything worked great. JR's Drive-in, Marlow's Pizza, Kountry Kitchen- all good. If you need a place to get away from the city for some quiet, this is the place. Great hosts - very responsive.

Very quiet place. With the owners pontoon on one side of the dock and the paddle pontoon with steering issues on the other side there is no where to dock the rowboat or canoe. With the narrow dock only one person can fish from the end. We did catch some nice bass off the dock. If you want to get to the swim platform you will have to wade and swim through weeds and lilypads before you reach open water. With a little weed control to create an open pathway and moving one of the boats off the dock this could be a perfect place to stay. The cabin is nice. If we go back again we will take our kayaks. Pretty much anything you need to cook with is there. A/C works good. Just watch that step out of the shower. Bed was comfortable. Also the house is painted red now we almost drove past it. The owner is a super nice guy.

You can’t beat the location of the house and the lake, It’s right there! The house is small, but we wanted to spend most of our time outside anyways. The picnic bench was very useful outside the house in addition to two chairs and an umbrella right outside the front door. We road the paddle boat, which was fun, but steering is a challenge. The beds do need to be upgraded. Host was very friendly, informative and honest.

Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience with this property. It didn’t look at all like it was in the picture or as was described. It was very dusty in the house and around the house. We had to dust the tables and remove spider web from the swing outside. The house itself is very tiny, Especially the bathroom. Taking a shower was a struggle, you couldn’t turn around there. The smell in the bathroom is very very bad, it smells like a mood, which is coming from the bathroom curtain is very dirty on the bottom. There are tons of killed mosquitoes on the walls with blood. All of the kitchen plates and cups are very old and need to be replaced. When we booked a property we received an email saying there would a paddle boat for our use. The paddle boat was broken when we got there, per owner it just got broken by last renters, but it looked like it has not been used in a very long time. This is a very big rip off with the money. Also no equipment to remove weeds from the lake. This house is more like a motel, and is not worse 450 for 2 nights.

Cute, compact and clean little house. We enjoyed the lake and surrounding area, but note that this house is close to the one next door; so if you're seeking privacy this might not work for you. The beds are old-fashioned but the larger one was still comfortable. We had good communication with the hosts.

The property was wonderful situated on the lake. We had access to a row boat, but it was too heavy for us to lift down to use. Thankfully, there was also a canoe that we did get down to go around the lake and explore the channel. That was so much fun. The kitchen had more pots and pans than ever needed and just enough dishes for the 2 of us, but a pancake turner would have been nice. Everything was spotless so we could even go barefoot without getting dirty feet except the ceiling fans. I guess most people wouldn't notice them but I have dust allergies. The bathroom could use some serious renovations but it was functional so we were still able to shower and everything worked. The landlord was so easy to work with and we loved having picnic tables, a porch type swing and a firepit if we wanted to use it. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful needed break.

My grandkids visited and very much enjoyed everything this house offered. I would suggest bringing beach towels and extra chairs. We will vacation at this location in the future.
