Del Mar Ocean Front &18th st. 1st Floor Large Patio On The Sand WiFi BBQ Garage

The house had everything we needed for a great trip with our dogs. Dog beach was just a short walk away. The location was perfect and we are looking forward to returning in the future.

The location was optimal for walking right out onto the sand to start a day full of beach & ocean entertainment. The surf was safe and the distance from the property steps to the water is short - maybe 50-75 yards? The house is thoughtfully and efficiently laid out. Two of the three bedrooms are big. One bedroom contains two beds, so the space is limited in there but it's for sleeping! The open/common space includes the kitchen, dining area, TV, sofas and another table and it is GREAT for entertaining a large family. The house was clean and safe. The garage accommodates two large vehicles bumper-to-bumper which allows for a third vehicle in the driveway. There are LOTS of food & dining options a short drive from the property. Couple things to note: the pillows could use an upgrade. The mattresses trend toward "fluffy" rather than the "firm". There was a shortage of sand toys for the little ones, but plenty of boogie boards & surf boards. Overall, we look forward to visiting again soon!

We had an incredible time staying at this beach house on the Del Mar Dog Beach. It was the perfect spot for a getaway with our dogs—they absolutely loved running around the beach every day! The house was clean, well-stocked, and super comfortable, with a light, airy vibe that made it feel like a true coastal escape.The patio was a highlight—spacious, private, and ideal for relaxing after a day in the sun. We spent every evening out there with a drink, while the pups lounged happily beside us. The location can’t be beat, and everything from coffee shops to pet-friendly restaurants is just a quick drive or walk away. Highly recommend for anyone traveling with dogs who wants easy beach access and a relaxing, stylish place to stay!

This is a great house for staying in Del Mar. We walked to Jake's and Poseidon for dinners and played on the beach all day. Great communication with the manager. Would definitely go back!

Family all enjoyed the beach accessibility of the property. The beach and ocean views were incredible. It was fun watching the early morning surfers as well as the dolphins playing in the ocean. The ocean air is taking it's toll on the outside house paint and on the main wall heater in the family room. Overall, our experience was good and renters will enjoy their stay at this home.

Can't beat the location, on the sand within walking distance to restaurants in Del Mar. Had everything our group of 4 adults and 3 teens needed for a quick weekend beach getaway. Teens enjoyed the boogie boards and adults enjoyed not having to lug umbrellas, chairs and coolers to the beach.

This home was perfect for my family of 5 and my parents to stay at. The view is beautiful and furniture all comfortable. It was difficult to leave, we hope to come back again!

Best beach!!!! Walkable, surfable, dog friendly. Spacious house perfect for our family of five and our little pug. Visit made even more special by pods of dolphins playing in the ocean on 3 of our 5 days-- so so special. Neighbours are super friendly as if the beach vibe.

7 great Days enjoying the Del Mar Beach with Family

Our three generations of family loved our time on the beach! This home is in walking distance to a playground, restaurants and a surf shop that rented wetsuits for children. Many great memories were made!

The house was as listed a little dated, but the location is what you are after here. It was spectacular, very fun and felt very safe. We loved our vacation and will definitely be coming back. My only suggestion it that the pans be updated because they are scratched Teflon. (I would suggest stainless Steele that people won’t ruin because they are thoughtless.) Ronald was very easy to communicate with and super responsive. I highly recommend this house!

This has become a tradition for a family. A place that is comfortable and feels like home. Even though the weather was May Gray this year still did not disappoint. A wonderful way to feel like you got away from it all but yet close to shopping and restaurants. Everything you need to cook, entertain, friends, and make everyone comfortable is available and ready for you. Check in and check out was seamless.

This apartment ( it is the lower level of the building, NOT the entire home) is nice. It was clean and comfortable, and the location is great. HOWEVER… Monday morning of our weeklong rental, painters started at 7:30 AM setting up, scraping and grinding outside our windows. We let it slide for one day, but when it happened again on Tuesday, I called Ron, the owner, who told me it wasn’t his fault. His upstairs co owner had hired “ his guys” to paint the exterior. He said that he didn’t know anything about it. He tried to tell me not to worry about the dust and possible lead in the scrapings because “ they don’t put lead in the paint anymore.” As a 30 year construction manager, I hated being “mansplained” to. It so happens that lead was still in most paint until the 70’s . If painters are grinding and scraping down to the wood(which they were), in older homes it is likely that lead is in the paint. Had it been tested? I’m sure not. Anyway, Wednesday morning, same story, same painters at 8 AM. I called Ron again and told him we were leaving as we could not use the home ( 2 people were trying to work from the place and the front porch was unusable). When I saw him at the property as our last person was moving out, he was rude and unapologetic. I asked him to consider a rebate and he gave me some snarky response about it not being his fault. Later, to his credit, he did give us the equivalent of 1-3/4 nights rent, despite us leaving 2 days early and having 3 days unusable.

It is the perfect location in Del Mar to enjoy the beach, the park, the town. The house is perfect for cooking and enjoying the views and access to the beach. We so much appreciate this Host making this property available as we thoroughly enjoyed it. The host was responsive to all communications and very helpful. We love it and plan to return.

Accommodation right on the beach, unbelievable view from patio and inside cottage. This is a really pretty beach and felt safe. Everything is available - beach toys for the kids, chairs, umbrella, beach towels. We grilled, ate at Jake’s and the Poseidon. Some things felt a little worn, but understand maintenance is a challenge with salt and sand. Kitchen is excellent - stove/oven looked brand new, nice countertops, large fridge, big table seats 8, laundry, bathroom has door to outside.

This is an amazing location, right on the beach. Lots of seating and the view can't be beat. The family loved the house.

The location is incredible - you can sit for hours on the patio which edges the sandy Del Mar beach. Walk to old Del Mar for shopping, meals, drinks. Walk down the beach to Jakes or Poseidon for dinner. Mattresses throughout house need to be replaced. House and furnishings are old but comfortable. Lovely vacation - thanks to owner for making everything easy.
