Very basic
Prison like feeling. Breakfast was one of the worst I have experienced in my life.
7.0 / 10.0
Recently decorated to a good standard
Stiil a bit of a paint smell in the room
The lift and corridors were not of the same high standard of the room

Where it was
The bed was worn and old felt like lieing on a box of springs the sheets had stains on, the pillows was like paper. Bathroom was okay just needs some maintenance. The TV didn't work no signal and it was so loud as right next to ring road.

A bit dated

Staff were friendly
Dated, dirty, stained carpet, mould on blind, shower, shower curtain. Floor peeling away in bathroom. Everywhere smells of a combination of chlorine, mould and feet. Workmen extremely noisy from 8am. Free WiFi did not work. Only 1 plug in room. Towels old and stained
Needs alot of work!

Clean and basic. Good location.

Location was great.
The carpet in the room was filthy, and the bedding wasn't clean. I don't mind staying somewhere cheap just to get my head down, but bedding going clean should not be compromised.

The location, the staff were really friendly & even though im not from around the Wolverhampton earlier & i had to wait to check in, i was allowed to stay in the bar bit until my room was done so i could remain safe rather than wondering around the street. Any queries i had the staff answered them in a calm professional manor & were overall very helpful & friendly.
The bath was tiny, & when you are tall like myself it can be a little difficult to relax & could of done with an extra pillow for both sides of the bed.

Room satisfactory for one night stopover and close to business venue being visited.
Room bland and uninviting with drab colour scheme and nothing on walls. Bed had seen better days. Some black mould on shower cubicle walls. Blue carpet showed up white dust and did not appear well cleaned. En-suite shower room floor stained and appeared dirty. Very noisy from traffic on main road outside room.

Everything we didn’t even stay the night the bed quality is awful, it smelt so bad when we got in there also

The shower was lovely.
The bed was awful and I mean awful the room really stunk to high heaven we think it was the carpet but it was atrocious I won't stay here ever again the staff were okay we had a menu in our room for food at the bar and when we got to the bar there was zero stock so seemed pointless having the menu's in the room in the first place
6.0 / 10.0
Able to easily park in the overflow car park (pleased to get a space partly under cover, because it was snowy, and we could not park in main car park as it was too slippery and dangerous. Whilst a pathway had been gritted for walking, the car spaces were too slippery to manoeuvre into especially as it's on a slope.)
Reception & bar staff were welcoming and obliging.
Room was clean and tidy. Shower nice and hot.
The room was nice and warm once we turned up the heating temperature. It’s a great location for the Wolves ground and other local attractions, eateries etc. All easy walking distance.
WiFi - good connection. I would say this hotel is good for overnights but not long stays as there are too many frustrations. But you get what you pay for and it is value for money in that sense.
Only one double socket in the whole room, and no sockets near the bed, which is unusual these days.
The only mirror was inside the bathroom. No hairdryer but was able to borrow one via reception.
L-shaped bed space with a small TV which was a long way from the bed. Would have been better for the TV to be on a bracket on the wall nearer the bed. However we weren't in the room much so not a huge issue.
Mattress a bit soft and we kept rolling into the middle and pillows were stained.
Had a room on ground floor overlooking the road junction - very noisy - very old double gazing which does nothing to deflect the noise all night - I would suggest you request a room at the back overlooking car park if traffic noise & constant emergency vehicle sirens is likely to keep you awake.
Only food available Sat eve was bacon baps. Despite a ‘match day menu’ on the wall and an even more comprehensive menu in the room. Did not eat breakfast here so unable to comment on that.
Did notice a sign in reception saying they are working through the hotel upgrading it. This is long overdue but good to hear it's being managed.

The room service were not professional enough and the receptionist are not given out right information to them

The care I received from the staff was excellent when I arrived back, following being the subject of a crime. I was issued with a replacement key card. In the morning the staff were very sympathetic. It was a lovely cosy room and shower, spotlessly clean, just wish my stay had been without the trauma I experienced. I recommend and would book again.
Everything was great.

clean and tidy
pleasant receptionists
bed was awful, very low and matteress very old so you could feel the springs - so wasnt a comfortable nights sleep.
the whole place is due a bit of TLC - painting, decoration, new bathrooms (shower took an age to empty).
smell of someone smoking cannabis from one of the rooms

Great location if walnting to head into the city in the evening, almost everything is within walking distance.
Rooms are tired and need a bit of TLC to fix a few ares of damage.
8.0 / 10.0
Great location
Quite a lot of noise from the ring road if you are on the front of the hotel.
8.0 / 10.0
Close to the train station, ideal for a one night stay.
I couldn't really fault anything for the price we paid, an 11am checkout rather than 10am would've been ideal.
5.0 / 10.0
Room was very basic with only a bed and small table for tea and coffee. The bed was comfortable but the traffic noise through the night meant sleep was disturbed. The location of the hotel was fine as it is only a 10 minute walk from the city centre.
Breakfast is served in the bar area it was adequate but only paper cups for juice and tea or coffee. Crockery and cutlery had to be collected from staff behind the bar.

Close to civic hall. Lady on reception told us a short cut and we were there in 3 mins walking.
Food at breakfast was hot and kept fully stocked lady collecting finished with dishes very curtious and friendly.
Bed was very uncomfortable mattress definitely needs changing. Stains on bathroom floor around the toilet carpet could do with a shampoo in bedroom and on the landing we stayed in room 123.

Most of the staff were helpful, but are grossly understaffed. Having to be on the reception and also taking food orders.
Car parking facilities.
The room and general appearance of the hotel. Dirty stained carpet. Rubbish in lifts all over the carpet.
Breakfast regularly cold in the morning. Have a hot plate without cover. There is a order menu but not enough staff to cover this so this was not available times out 0f my 3 days stay. Or was given what can be microwaved in a few minutes. There were so many areas that require improvement. Would not stay. Do not recommend.
Would not choose this establishment again

Nothing.
The room smelt awful, like stale smoking lingering scent. The carpet is dirty, literal dirt marks were on it. The bed's mattress had no support. Laying on it was like laying on the base with springs sticking my sides. Someone opened the room door and attempted to come into the room. Luckily I wasn't sleeping so I challenged them and they ran away - seemed like teenage boys. My question is, how did they get access?
Worst hotel experience ever. Do not stay at this hotel.
8.0 / 10.0
Good value for money and close to the city and my meeting place.
Parking was good in comparison as Birmingham is a hard place to find a parking space.
More wardrobe storage needed if two people are sharing
The shower was nice and relaxing
The breakfast was good value for money.
I would book again.
Attention to detail can be done in the cleaning of the rooms.
The bathroom floor was not fully clean.
The dining area is nice but the big sofa was very torn.
6.0 / 10.0
Good price , clean enough
A bit dated , didn’t get any sleep due to traffic and traffic lights being outside of my window so cars were stopped constantly outside with music blaring
5.0 / 10.0
Convenient location to venue. It’s perfect for attending gigs at the Civic Halls.
Terrible beds. An uncomfortable night’s sleep. Loud traffic- it’s right next to a major ring road and junction. Loud guests shouting in corridors after midnight. Asked for extra pillows- never got them.

check in
There wasn't any internet.
Room TV did not work.
Toilet water would take a very long time to refill.
Only a chair for the desk, would be good for another chair - there was plenty of space for one.
No suitcase stand, had to use the desk, which as there wasn't any internet it was not a 'problem'!!
Understaffed, two girls in reception seem to be doing what they could to be helpful. No chef or bartender!
10.0 / 10.0
City centre location so very easy to find. I’ve stayed here many, many times in the last 12 and have never had any issues. The reception staff are friendly and only too happy to help.
Breakfast starting earlier but at 07:00 it’s early enough for most people. Most of the time I’m out a little after 06:00.

It was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location.
Hotel room is very outdated. Need usb /usbc charger points by the head of the bed. More pillows needed as they were very flat.
Rooms just needed an upgrade. New Beds to paint on the wall, up date bathroom.
You can tell there was smokers and smoker points at the hotel as it did smell of cigarettes throughout.

Great location for our gigs at the Newhampton (Wolverhampton) Arts Centre.
All staff we had interaction with, from Housekeeping to Reception/ Bar were friendly and helpful.
Very comfortable memory foam mattress on the bed.
Room very clean. If a bit tired in places.
Keys kept failing and we were 2nd floor as far from lift as possible! We learnt to get key checked before going to room.
9.0 / 10.0
Reasonable price and the room was nice and very clean and great for what I needed
The receptionist could look more enthusiastic in her job and sound interested and the location could be more central in town but there’s nothing to be done for that
