The cabin was spacious and beautiful, however it definitely needs a deep clean and a refresh. For such a big, pricey cabin, you'd expect to have updated furniture and mattresses. The couches on the main level look and felt like they were from a yard sale. The mattresses also were very old and uncomfortable. There was some dog poop on the back porch when we checked in and there was a butter knife left by the control panel of the hot tub because you couldn't turn on anything digitally so I'm guessing this is what previous guests tried to use to get it to work. The panel was broke so you couldn't adjust the heat, the jets, anything. The refrigerator was leaking water from the inside and this was apparently known BEFORE our check in because maintenance called to replace it on our 2nd or 3rd day without our knowing and coming into the cabin without our knowledge while we were gone. This should've been taken care of prior to our arrival. The name of the cabin should also be renamed as their aren't hardly any views to speak of.

The home was big enough to accommodate my family members, however the refrigerator was broke from the beginning of our stay. Despite being told it would be fixed and never was. The bedding was old and mattresses were very old. One of the toilets never flushed. The pool table couldn’t be used due to a huge tear in it.

As soon as we pulled up we saw at the small cabin that the water hose was left in the hottub with water overflowing and underneath the deck looked like a waterfall. ONLY to turn out that the hottub didn't even work. Which was a shame because that small cabin was for my son and his wife as a special thing for them cause he just got back from his deployment. NOW... the big cabin the two bedrooms downstairs smelled like propane so bad that we had to open the doors to the deck just to air them out. The knob on one the bathtubs were broke and hard to cut water off. One picture frame glass was broken, kitchen cabin wouldn't even close and two cabinet doors were broken. Inside frig leaked, some kind of powder detergent or something was on the side of bathtub. Thank goodness my dog didn't eat it. All the remotes were placed in different bedrooms. The large living room windows were nasty like they haven't been cleaned in forever and the cobwebs.... not small but large. The stones at the fireplace looks horrible. The blinds in the kitchen was missing a big chunk of blinds. All I wanted was a NICE get away for my family to relax after our father died and son returning from deployment but it was honestly a big disappointment. It's bad when you sit down on your first night and cry in front of your family and tell them your sorry and that this isn't what you had in mind. Even the outside had roof tin everywhere. It was trashy and the smell of the septic tank was the icing on top. Just bad inside and out!!!!!

The good: Our family of 12 had a great time visiting the Smokeys. There were decks for days and the views were five stars. We saw bears on three separate occasions so that was pretty awesome. We also got plenty of use out of the hot tubs, so no complaints there! The bad: We knew we were booking a cabin, not the Four Seasons, however, with how much we paid I was very with disappointed several items inside the home. The pool table was missing 3 balls. The dishwasher only utilized the soap tab every third wash or so. The linens on the beds were ridiculously old and worn down. I don't need Egyptian linen, but maybe a trip to Target, Home Goods, or Amazon, every year or two to refresh would be nice when you're charging as much as you do. What really irked me the most, though, was although the house is billed as accommodating 16, the pots, pans and bowls in the kitchen do not reflect that. We made spaghetti one night and I had to boil 3 boxes of pasta one-by-one because there was no large stock pot. And then I had to mix and serve the pasta on a deep cookie sheet because there was only one-biggish plastic bowl but we had already made a salad in it. However, there is a drawer full of lids, so at one point the kitchen must have been fully stocked. It's clear that no one - the owner nor the rental agency - has bothered to take inventory of the kitchen in several years. Also, the kitchen lacks basic starter spices such as salt, pepper, and olive oil, that you'll typically find at rental properties, so you'll need to bring those along with any large pots and pans if you plan to do any sort of cooking. FYI the house is about 20 minutes from town so it takes a while just to to get ANYWHERE, but we sort of knew that going in and were never in a hurry. You just need to plan accordingly. In spite of my complaints about the house we had a great time! We went whitewater rafting on the Upper Pigeon River through SMO rafting, booked a couple of pontoon boats and took the kids tubing on Douglas Lake via Smoky Mountain H2O Sports, went ziplining at Anakeesta in Gatlinburg, and did some hiking in Smoky Mountain National Park. Also highly recommend the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster (kids and adults loved it). It's only about 20 minutes from the house AND there's a Groupon :)

Property is in very poor as well as outdated condition. Bedding is not as advertised - Property is in much need of ALOT of attention both inside and out. Very disappointed in condition of this rental - especially for the money that was spent.

Cabin was nice and clean. The property around the cabin was not. Looks like recent work had been done to the roof and scrap metal roof panels were laying around on the property along with some garbage. All in all a great stay and nice cabin.
