The Montparnasse Tower, the biggest building in Paris

In the first three decades of the 20th century, Montparnasse was a thriving artistic and literary centre. Many modern painters and sculptors, new novelists and poets, the great and the young were drawn to this area. Its ateliers, conviviality and renewed Bohemian lifestyle made it a magnet for genius, some of them French but many of them foreigners.
The great epoque ended with World War II and continued with the destruction of many ateliers. In the beginning of the 70th's, the Tour Montparnasse was constructed – it is Paris’s tallest tower, which heralded the more modern part of Montparnasse. The great cafés are very much in business and attract a lively international crowd. You can find cinemas, pubs, crêperies, various restaurants and many high-street fashion boutique, such as those in the annexe at the Galeries Lafayette and the rue de Rennes. Many theatres and small cafes are also located on the Rue de la Gaité, which is part of the Historical Axis, where artists such as Apollinaire, Matisse and Henri Rousseau once congregated.
Saint-Germain-des-Prés nearby by walking.

The apartment, it turns out (we really didn’t know it at the time) was in a fantastic part of Paris…Montparnasse. James, who met us there, (set up WiFi and showed how to get TV going), told us about the great bakery there, the supermarket, Monoprix, which had just about everything (not just food). Iconic sites were mostly about a 15 minute Uber ride away. Train stations are right there. Cafes galore. Shopping galore. Sunrise right there. 9th floor balcony. Good security. It’s a pretty part of town. Right across the street from the tallest building in Paris, but you don’t see it from the apartment because it’s on the street side.Any questions or concerns were answered promptly. We highly recommend it.

Apartment was at it was shown in the pictures. Felt very safe with the 2 locked entries. Enjoyed the balcony for take-out meals. As listed, it doesn’t have A/C, but they provided 2 tower fans which were suitable for the climate. The check in was delayed due to the cleaners before. But the walkthrough of the apartment was explained thoroughly. Nice location close to the train/metro station for access on to the city metro, RER to Versailles and to CDG airport. A lot of food choices nearby. Approximately 25 minute walk to Notre-Dame for perspective. Stayed as a family with the 2 kids sharing the pullout bed, which made it a bit more cramped but it is a city centre so the size was to be expected. It felt comfortable and we would stay there again.

good layout for 3 adults. There is a separate space with an armoire for the 3rd person which is nice. Toilet has it's own room. Market on Wednesdays and Saturday around the corner. Lots of linens. Would have been nice if more amenities had been available like - paper towels, dish soap, coffee filters, hand soap.

Pictures are accurate. Communication a little slow with messaging back and mostly not answering my full question. With host luckily I had WhatsApp to communicate once I arrived. Location close to metro main hub and near lots of food locations and groceries with in a block.

This apartment is in a great location, with two nearby Metro stations and an open air street market just steps away. It was very suitable for my wife and me, very quiet, and is just as shown in the photos. We enjoyed dining on the balcony with a great city view. The king size bed was very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, although we struggled with understanding the user manuals for the microwave and the washer, even with Google Translate. We also had difficulty understanding the entrance instructions from the host, so we ended up taking the wrong elevators. In addition, for some reason we could not connect to the wifi for the first 24 hours of our stay. We've stayed in many VRBO properties, and they usually have a 3-ring binder with guest instructions, wifi password, check out procedures, local restaurants, etc. This host did not provide that, so we had to message him to get the info. Most of the time we received prompt responses.Overall, we would recommend this property.

Very close to two metro lines that made it very easy to get around the city. Also, many really good restaurants that were walking distance from the apartment. I thought the pictures were very on point. Felt safe walking back and forth to metros from the apartment. For the price I felt we got exactly what we were expecting!!

Everything as expected. The location is very good. In my opinion, they could remove the carpets in the living room and bedroom as they were very dirty. Cleaning would be better without the rugs. And by staying 10 nights they could offer cleaning for periods like this.
