Our hosts were welcoming, warm people who treated us to home-made delicacies when we arrived and we ended up talking to them for a while. Their life stories and experiences are truly inspiring. They know so much about the town of Ilok itself and are helpful and willing to help if you need suggestions or recommendations for what to do or where to eat. They also make their own brand of "sparkling wine with a story" that you can taste there as well. We asked if they could serve us breakfast in the morning and they readily accepted and served free-range eggs, cheese from a local farm and locally grown vegetables. My husband and I enjoyed our stay and recommend it to all who like to stay in places close to nature made to remind us of how things used to be. This place has a soul and a story to tell.
