The Alpha Monkey hotel & Tree house

I stayed here for a solid month. I lovd being able to hear the sea every night, really regulated my aniexty and heartbeat, fresh ocean breeze and a nice terrace to sit on. The people who worked here were friendly. I was gifted a picture at the end and have since been messaged to see how my journey has been. I do miss the Alpha monkey, I have recommended it to a few friends planning to come to Sri Lanka. Tangalle is a lovely place, you can visit rock temple and enjoy the city. Waking up to the sunrise and the sound of waves from your bed is a paradise you can't fathom until you've done it. Was incredibly difficult for me to finally pack my bag and leave. The price for a room, with a private bathroom, strong water pressure, a huge swimming pool, beautiful gardens, resturant on the beach and only a 30/40 minute walk to town down a beautiful coastal road..... I don't understand why more people don't stay here longer. If it were up to me, i wouldn't have left.

i couldn't really afford the resturant or food here. a pot of coffee was 800 and that set me back daily, no freebies like coffee or water, water priced at 300 a bottle so i had to walk to the shop to save the money. This is very much a me problem. I am incredibly poor! If you can afford it, it's not a problem at all. the bed can get a little damp on rainy days, stick the fan on full while you're out and about and it's not too much of a problem. I changed my room to the one with a private pool it was nice to have a pool overlooking the salt water pool, but it does get gross quickly so didn't make as much use of it as i'd have liked to. Wifi not available in your room, but the resturant has good wifi and you can enjoy a pot of coffee and overlook the ocean while working.

Everything! I can't understand why it was empty. I was initially booked for a week, I stayed for 3, I have been away from it for a few hours and instantly regretted my decision and will be booking it for another 2 weeks. I don't see the point in moving around Sri Lanka anymore. There's a pool, restaurant, private beach, nice 40min scenic walk between the treehouse and town. This is the kind of place where they will leave you alone! No harassment of sales. If you just need somewhere to catch up with your thoughts, go to alpha monkey.

The people on the road between the hotel n town. They all need 5000lkr for coconuts.... Some lovely people down that road, but have your wits about you. Has nothing to do with the hotel tho. The staff didn't seem that keen on me but that might be because I'm quite a standoffish person.

L'endroit est magnifique, au bord de l'eau. Le personnel est très accueillant.

We had a wonderful and relaxing calm stay at Alpha Monkey hotel. The cabanas were located right at the beach, which was extraordinary. We stayed there in off-season, so the beach was nearly empty besides some cute hermit crabs. Another big plus was the sea-water pool surrounded by Plants and palms sometimes visited by monkeys. So they definitely earned the name.

Only thing which we have to mentioned is, that the bathroom is very basic and a could need some renovation.
