About this house rental
This cozy little cabin located on the banks of the beautiful Colorado River is perfect for a quiet and relaxing getaway. The cabin is a fully furnished two-story that sleeps up to 6. We have a queen-size sleeper sofa downstairs, one full and one queen upstairs and one bathroom. This is the perfect property for those who enjoy the peaceful quiet of the river and the beauty of small towns. Enjoy the view of the river from the back porch, fish for bass/perch/catfish, or launch a boat from the nearby boat ramp. Enjoy the town of Smithville by walking the adorable downtown with its shops and restaurants or take a short drive to Bastrop or Austin.

A very comfy and cozy cabin, in a peaceful setting. Located beside the river, yet close to downtown Smithville, it's great for both relaxing on the deck (on back side facing the river - see photo) or down by the riverside and for using as a base to explore the area. My wife and I loved it. It is very clean and the host is super responsive. Now this is a smaller place, suitable for a couple (2 couples if they are very comfortable with each other - no privacy in loft with beds) or a couple with one or two small children - IMO no more than that. Everything (kitchen, bath) is downsized but very functional. Be aware that there is a spiral staircase leading up to where both beds (one full, one queen) are. While it is cool, it would be difficult for anyone who has trouble with stairs - it is narrow and the steps are tall - maybe 18 inches. There is a chain railing, but it's easier to hold the center support pole, for safety. While peaceful, you will hear the occasional train horn, and you're close to the small airport, so at times a small prop plane will fly overhead. All this being said, we would definitely stay here again; for us, the benefits far outweigh any drawbacks.

Enjoyed our stay!!! Just being away from the city and enjoying the quiet countryside was great! The property was excellent for our family of six! Host was available to reach and answered all our questions.

Cabin was very cute and cozy. Nice and quiet. The hot water wasn’t working for us. Other than that it was lovely.
