You absolutely can't beat the location. It is nestled behind the Oberhofen Castle (with one tall, close house in between). We stayed on the top floor in the 2 bedroom apartment, and spent a lot of time on the large patio enjoying the view of the castle towers and peek-a-boo lake view. There were plenty of tables and chairs to enjoy the patio, and lots of beds inside (a queen in each bedroom, two singles in the main room and one is a trundle for a third single). The ferry terminal is just next door with a little cafe for coffee or beer, and you can sneak a peek at the ferry passing by Frank the apartment patio. A super convenient grocery store is right across the street. The apartment is about equidistant to two bus stops, very close and convenient. There is a 24-hour parking garage just down the street (Gemeinde Oberhofen am Thunersee). We paid 49 chf for one week. You'll need to create an account (we used the apartment address) at https://parkingpay.ch/. We had to wait until we had our rental car so we could provide the license plate. There was no gate or need to enter our information at the garage, since they had our license plate number they knew that we had a pass and left our car alone all week. The kitchen is cute and well equipped, and the owner provides same-day communication and is easy to work with.

The street noise is mentioned in several reviews and is something to consider. It's probably worse for the second floor apartment then for ours on the third floor. No issues from the back bedroom but the front bedroom and main room it's definitely pretty noisy if you have the windows open. It got a little warm when we were here in June so we had to open the windows and some were painted shut. The owner wasn't able to provide fans (mentioned it's rare to be this warm). Some previous reviews mentioned no towels and I think complained about the bedding. We had no issues there, we asked for some extra towels and they appeared same day as the request. The bedding was nice. The fridge was kinda small with no freezer. One final item to note is the distance from Interlaken. Just keep in mind that the bus takes at least 45 minutes to get there so if you are using it as a jump off point for exploration make sure to get up and out plenty early. We spent a lot of time in Thun and Bern to the west so this location was great for us. We loved Thun so much though that we might try to stay there next time for a little more walkable night life.

Perfekte Lage, gutes Internet, Wohnung ist hell mit reichlich Platz und bietet gute Parkmöglichkeiten. Riesiger Kühlschrank. Für die Region Oberhofen Preis-Leistung ok.

Kochutensilien waren reichlich vorhanden, leider fehlten Kaffeetassen. Das Hauptbett war sehr bequem, das Bett am Eingang äußerst unbequem. Obwohl das Bad angenehm groß war, haben uns die Schimmelflecken in der Dusche irriteriert.

Sehr laut zum Schlafen da Straße stark befahren. Bad sehr klein und einfach. Steile Treppe zur Wohnung. Veraltete Steckdosen. Deutsche Stecker passen nicht.
