About this house rental
*** Winter and 2022 Guests~ We are excited to announce that in October and November we will be completing a significant facelift on our beautiful home! Plans include new flooring, bathrooms and kitchen, updated appliances, closet doors. As you can see guests have LOVED their stay with us as-is and you can expect that wonderful experience plus so much! We plan to update our pictures as soon as possible!
Welcome to Our Mountain Home: the perfect space for a family get-together, a romantic getaway, a reunion of friends, and everything in between. It offers bright vaulted ceilings, a fully stocked kitchen, a wood-burning stove (also central heat and AC), a well-maintained hot tub, and gorgeously landscaped grounds. Just minutes from Packwood town center, it is an ideal gateway to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Mount Rainier National Park, and White Pass Ski Area. We can't wait to host you!
While the inside space and hot tub will make you feel right at home, the outside space is magical. Please plan to spend some time enjoying the sights and sounds of nature from the beautiful covered patio, build a fire in the pit with provided wood, and pause.
Our neighborhood is very quiet and nestled in the forest in the upper Timberline neighborhood. Elk are the most frequent visitors. From the house there are quiet gravel roads that can be walked. The town of Packwood is very sweet with 300 year-round residents. It is about 5 minutes west on Hwy 12 and has a quaint food market, liquor store, a few artisan shops, a coffee shop, a brewery, a tavern, and a restaurant or two. We always recommend doing big shopping before you arrive. White Pass is about 20 minutes east for your winter fun.
You have full access to the main house (2 bed, 2 bath, & futon) and outside space including hot tub, covered outdoor entertainment area, fire pit and landscaped portion of the property. There is a garage on the premises that is off limits and periodically accessed by the owners.

We had a great weekend stay at this peaceful cabin. Needed some tall tree therapy and this place was perfect in every way. Nicely appointed cabin with everything we needed. The outside bbq area was a great place to sit and relax and listen to the sounds of nature. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you Caitlyn!

This is a beautiful property in a great location if you want to spend time at Mt Rainier. We were especially thankful for the A/C as it was unusually hot during our time there and after a day of hiking we were ready for a nice cool place to hang out.
The property does need a little attention, I think a little upkeep would go a long way! The outdoor space has the potential to be really beautiful, but everything was horribly overgrown with weeds and the lawn was badly in need of mowing. It was obvious some good landscaping had been set up but has not been maintained. Lots of cobwebs on the patio and decks, and it looks like they had not been swept in a very long time. The cushions on the outdoor furniture need to be vacuumed or cleaned as well.
The inside was in better condition, and although some things were stained or worn the house was spotlessly clean. It was a very comfortable place to hang out as a family. The kitchen was well equipped and we made full meals each day there. The grills were great! I also appreciated the good supply of games and puzzles.
There were a couple other minor things that weren't great - 3 bath towels there for a stay of 6 guests, and one of the bedrooms is missing a blackout curtain on the window.
Overall I would say this is a great property that would benefit from a little TLC!
