Kilauea House

Exceptional thought and attention to detail put into the decoration of the room and the little kitchenette was very well equipped. Excellent continental breakfast restocked daily with an unexpected large range of snacks also, including some drinks and even an ice-cream treat. Lovely quiet location but easy access to the park and the main highway. Very hospitable and friendly hosts who really care about the experience their guests have. They were available if needed.

Nothing to dislike

The hosts were wonderful and greeted us as soon as we got there, and it was incredibly easy to find. The space was great and set up so well and they provided so many snacks and things to eat, which were perfect after hiking in the national park. The location was also very close to the park entrance which was perfect for us.

The only negative I can think of which really isn’t that big of A deal just something to keep in mind, is since it is a room in their house and the area feels very quite and my partner and I didn’t want to be rude upon returning from hiking for the night we didn’t really talk to each other because we felt even that would be too loud and just went to bed. Again this was probably just us not wanting to be an inconvenience.

A beautiful home that the hosts have opened up to guests. The room was thoughtfully decorated and so welcoming. It far exceeded our expectations. There was an enormous range of breakfast foods - the granola was excellent. The bed was super comfy. The bed linen and towels were super soft and smelt fabulous. There were also some thoughtful toiletries, which were very welcome after a month of travelling. A lot of love and thought has gone into this wonderful home and we only wished that we had booked for more than one night.

Nothing could have been better!

I’ve never ever written a Booking review until this one. This Kilauea House really redefines coziness. The decoration, the appliances, the bed and ample in-room breakfast, the bed and the blankets — you can see the host’s thoroughness and warm heartiness from all the subtle differences. It is much cleaner than most of the hotels in the States. It has the best location from the Volcanic NP, only 5min drive from the NP entrance. The hosts are nice and wonderful. This place is a highlight of our trip to Big island. This is definitely worth a multi day stay if you are chasing for the next episode of volcano eruption.
