We really loved our stay here. The staff, particularly on reception, were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The building is a gem, really beautiful and very clean, the views from it are stunning. The pool is a good size and well maintained. The room was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed. The food at the hotel was very nice

We found the cost of food at the hotel a little on the expensive side and only ate there (outside of our pre-paid breakfast) once as a result. The pre-paid breakfast was good value though and had a good selection. A personal preference would’ve been for strawberries & blueberries to be available, and it was a little disappointing that staff weren’t able to satisfy a basic request for poached/scrambled eggs. The hotel’s location part way up a winding hill provides beautiful views but it is worth noting that a small part of the walk down to the town is not on pavement - to go up/down a section of the hill you have to walk on the road. This is obviously not the hotel’s fault and we safely walked up and down each day, but it is a potential safety issue that people should be aware of - particularly if you have small children and no car

A paradise in Paradiso.

The amenities were absolute delight. It felt like a little paradise tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. The staff were incredibly accommodating. Everything was spacious. Even the hotel's restaurant was delicious! We will definitely go back or recommend to our friends and family.

I wish the shampoo and hand wash were nicer. It didn't seem up to par as the rest of the amenities the hotel provided.

The location of the hotel was quite poor. The bus only came once an hour, so I often had to call a taxi. The internet was almost nonexistent during my stay — I had to use my own mobile data. The ventilation in the room was very noisy, and I couldn’t sleep all night because of it.

The staff, the views, the fabulous food and wine, the comfortable and spacious room all made this a wonderful and memorable stay

Minor point but the bar area was essentially the busy thoroughfare between the kitchen and the terrace. I would have better enjoyed a cosy and relaxing bar area located elsewhere in the building

Everything was amazing: first: the team: just outstanding, from reception, to housekeeping to the restaurant. Kind, professional, thoughtful, helpful and so patient. Second: the cuisine - absolutely delicious and stunningly presented. Locally sourced, a lot from their local garden and a fantastic menu of the day. A special thank you to Lorenzo, the sommelier and our waiter: the best! But really, everyone was amazing. And the breakfast!! So beautiful, delicious and creative, with loads of healthy choices. Third: the location. The view is stunning and perfect for climbing San Salvatore.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The hotel was immaculate and the food outstanding. They made sure to cater to my nut allergy too! The breakfast buffet was amazing and plentiful. Lorenzo the general manager is exceptional being informative and so likable. This is a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful setting. Make sure to not miss out and stay here!!!!

Really exceptional experience

We're a family of 4. Stayed one night and regret that we didn't stay longer. Pros: - The hotel is fully renovated with very modern room & facilities while conserving the classic and historic feeling of original site & surroundings. - room was spacious, and the interior was very nice with good lighting conditions. - view was a bit limited lake view due to the original building structure, but maybe in another room, it should have a great lake view, as the hotel stood on the hill over the lake. - had a dinner and a breakfast at the hotel restaurant and food was very nice with at least one star quality, and people there provided really attentive and kind service. - They have dedicated, large size parking building (with a fee) Cons - It's actually a little far from Lugano center, but I knew it and it was not my problem. All in all, it is a much more modern and classy hotel than expected, and I would definitely stay here if I visit Lugano again.
