Convenient location, comfortable hotel

Comfortable bed and a good location, easy walking distance into the local town with a selection of restaurants and a chateau to visit. Easy driving distance to the local beach's (stony not sandy) and marina

The menu in the restaurant was a little limited, we ate there one night only, the menu was the same the second night so we found a very nice local pizza restaurant

The hotel was nicely decorated, clean and the restaurant very authentic and decent.

Just OK but It could be so much better.

The hotel is a modern renovation of the old station hotel in Eu. We stayed for five nights in a "suite" on the top floor (see access comments below) and it was large with a comfortable bed. The chairs were not very comfortable and despite the description, there was no microwave. The bathroom was large and efficient. There is a big TV too. Breakfast was OK.

Firstly, access to the room is up a spiral metal fire escape from the second floor. The hotel description only refers to stairs. It was very difficult to carry suitcases and other bags up the narrow winding fire escape to the room, especially as the outside doors on the second and third floors could only be opened with a key card! We mentioned this to the reception who completely ignored us with a shrug. Staff at the hotel are not particularly friendly or helpful. There were no glasses or cups in the room, only cardboard containers. Not what you want at this price level. Another issue is that the hotel is situated opposite a large school. Noisy children on motor bikes, without proper silencers, are zooming around outside from the end of school until early evening. If I owned this hotel I would have had a meeting with the school's principal to sort this out as it is a definite detraction from enjoyment at the hotel.

Good

Beautiful building, good and quiet location (just next to the railway station, although I found out in the morning that trains very really running), easy parking, enough space. Breakfast was simple, French style, but enough and tasty. Stuff were welcoming, spoke good English.

It seems that there are different kind of double rooms. My room was at the other smaller building, where the soundproofing was not so good, so I could hear neighbours moving around in their rooms. It didn’t bother me much though, I slept well, but I’m just a bit disappointed that I wasn’t able to enjoy the room in the beautiful main building. The price was, however, quite the same. Also, be prepared that if you want to have dinner, you need to find a restaurant in the town (approx 10 min walk). I got good suggestions from the reception, but unfortunately all of them were full on Saturday evening (I didn’t have a reservation). At the hotel bar I could still get some snacks (cheese and ham plate) which was delicious and was still better than nothing.

Excellent stay

The hotel is very clean, quiet, beautiful and well renovated . The staff is absolutely great (Mathilde at the check-in desk was so heartwarming! And the night clerk too!)

It would be nice if the restaurant/bar would stay open for more than 11pm on a Saturday ... Last call for a drink is 10:30 pm

Lovely place ans the location is fantastic. Very close to the town centre. A few minutes drive to Mers Les Bains. Very quiet too. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Nothing. We chose the basic rooms and maybe the beds in superior rooms are firmer which would be better.

Nice stay to visit the northern part of the coast of Normandy

Room was well eqipped and very clean, size was absolutely ok, but we had a so called suit and so it was as big as we would have it expected to be

we had to use outdoor stairs to get to our room in the roof floor, which was not very convenient especially when you have to carry your luggage.

In my room, the mattress is too soft. Traveling with my spouse, it would have needed two chairs in the bedroom for the breakfast.

Breakfast timeslot was comfortable. Good choice, also eggs and bacon. Coffee machine wasn't great.

For northern Europeans French beds are too short! The terrace was right beneath our room, this could be noisy in the evening but because of rain the students had left.
