About this apartment rental

Summary:
Mulberry House offers spacious comfortable, spacious and bright apartments with just flats per floor. Lift/elevator access provides convenience for travellers. A selection of one and two bedroom apartments are available, each with its own splash of personality and all with sofa beds for additional guests. Some even offer views of the London skyline. The spaces are ideal for couples, business travellers and groups.

The Space:
This generously sized apartment is designed with the urban traveller in mind and is located on a quiet side street away from the main bustle. Approach the apartment via the third floor (with lift or elevator) and then immediately walk through the hallway into the large reception room with large windows and wooden floors. The reception room features a large sofa bed and dining area with tv and a south facing view of the City skyline. The open plan kitchen features a washing machine so that you can do some laundry and travel light, a dishwasher because who wants to do the dishes by hand, toaster and kettle, fridge, stove/hob, oven and microwave. We know how important it is for people with special dietary requirements to prepare food for themselves rather than rely on the understanding and cooperation of restaurants and you may not want to eat out all the time, so we make sure you have the added choice of self catering. Of course, there are plenty of pots and pans, cutlery and crockery for you to use.

There are two bedrooms. The main bedroom features a king size bed, lots of wardrobe space and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a slightly smaller bed which comfortably sleeps two and it has access to a separate shower room. Both bedrooms feature hotel quality bed linen, wardrobes with hangers, plenty of drawer space, TV, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and good quality towels for all guests. We will supply you with some toiletries on arrival and also put together a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and some snacks for when you arrive.

Good quality wifi is available in all our properties to help you plan your day's sightseeing, catch up on some work, keep in touch with friends and family back home or simply to relax after a busy day in the capital.

All City Living London properties offer convenient bases to discover what London has to offer so that you can recharge at the end of the day and then do it all again.

The Neighborhood:
Clerkenwell has a fascinating history and is home to London’s design industry, which hosts the annual Clerkenwell Design Week. Once known for its monasteries and prisons, it was the grimy backdrop for many of Charles Dickens's literary works as well as the birthplace of Marxism. It is now completely transformed into the Tech, advertising and architectural hub that it is now.

Some local attractions for your consideration:
Exmouth Market - pedestrianised oasis of cafes, restaurants and bars that never disappoint
St Paul's Cathedral - Sir Christopher Wren's masterpiece where Lady Diana promised the then Prince Charles she would honour and obey
Blackfriars Bridge - the most stunning views can be had from the platforms at this railway bridge, two short stops from Farringdon
Blackfriars Pier - pick up a Clipper and tour London by boat
Tate Modern - modern art institution
Museum and Priory of the Order of St John
Grainger - ecletic Australian dining
Fabric London - legendary nightclub
Smithfield Market - historic wholesale meat market. Not for vegans.
Zetter Townhouse - more cocktails!
Barbican Centre - cultural multi arts centre with concert hall, galleries and cinema

Getting Around:
Access to transport is excellent and the nearest station is the superbly connected Farringdon for Elizabeth, Circle, Hammersmith and City and Metropolitan lines as well as mainline rail stations. Fast trains direct to Luton and Gatwick airports make this an excellent choice in central London after you land. St Pancras International for Eurostar services to Continental Europe is just one stop away.
The London Stadium can be reached within 45 minutes by travelling direct to Stratford on the Elizabeth line, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium can be reached in 45 minutes by taking the Circle line and Overland train to Silver Street and Wembley Park can be accessed direct via the Metropolitan line in 50 minutes.

This was the second time I have rented out this flat. This time I was in the flat 20. Like last year, the flat was clean when I arrived and there was plenty of towels and toilet paper. There was plenty of cooking utensil, pots, pans and dishes. When I arrived there were 3 out of 6 light bulbs out. I texted the property management and they were responded within 5 hours and the lights were replaced the next day. Then the following week, the washer/dryer door broke. I texted the property management and they sent maintenance same day. Maintenance took some pictures and said he would order the part as soon as possible. In the mean time, property management offered the use of another flat's washer/dryer if I needed to do a load of laundry. It took 3 business days to replace the door, so not too bad. I was quite happy that this management company, especially Angela and Danielle, responded to my text within a couple of hours of me sending the text. Excellent customer service. If you can, rent out this flat, primarily due to their customer service.

Central to tube and bus options. Loved our evening exploring the many restaurants, pubs and bars in nearby Exmouth Market area. The flat had ample space in common living/dining/kitchen area. The flat was clean and we found sufficient bath towels for the group (5 adults). The bedrooms had both drawer storage as well as closet space. Bathrooms had ample space. The lift was most helpful in getting our large bags up to the third floor. The photos in listing are accurate in reflecting how flat looks. Things to know that don’t translate to photos: If weather requires you sleep with open windows(no a/c in flat) then you will experience evening street noise(note there is a very popular pub within 1/2block of flat). The mattresses in bedrooms are of low quality thus you may not have a very comfortable night of rest. In summary the flat worked for us but the older folks in our group left a bit tired due to late night noise and uncomfortable sleeping. The young adults in the group thought it was all GOOD!

While the location is very good, this is not a five star lodging. Dishwasher with metal strip impeding the door, poor water pressure in second shower needing repair, no coffee pot until we asked, third bed in living room impossible to sleep two people, unable to open a bedroom window for ventilation. Bed sizes were smaller than expected, so describe as “UK/EU” if that is the case. Welcome sheet with directions for stove and suggestions of dining or attractions in neighborhood would have been helpful. The repair man was friendly and efficient.
