Camping Menina

The campground is the result of labor of love and the owner's a vision. A peaceful location, offering beautiful views and walks, lots of things to do, the kids can go out and explore and play freely. The cabin is warm, comfortable. The woodwork around the campground is spectacular and the wellness area which can be rented for a group of friends is beautiful - the indoor area with the daybed is luxurious and cozy, and the large firewood-powered sauna offers grounded relaxation and conversations between friends. It was one of the most amazing "spa" experiences and I want to return. The owner loves the village too, and took us on a little walk around some of the farms and homesteads, and it was great to connect with the kind locals and share a bite and a laugh. The area isn't touristy at all and it's lovely.

Not really a dislike, I just wanted to highlight that the campground was devastated by the floods last year in August 2022. Teams are working tirelessly in repairing the broken sign posts, infrastructure that was bent and ripped from the floors, renovating and building new cabins, clearing the lake and riverbed areas etc. There's so much love that is going into the campground - so even if it's not done yet (an important cleanup phase to be finished by April 2024), I invite you to go and support the campgrounds, if you can.

We had a wonderful time, the lodge is built from wood all sourced from Logarska Dolina, while the furniture, the entrance door, and kitchen fronts are made out of old wooden barrels. The frame of the double bed is made out wood used for the growth of hops. We got to know all of this through stories of an extremely friendly and nice owner, who came to give us detailed instructions for the sauna and jacuzzi. They both function flawlessly and especially the superb finish sauna is spacious and hot as it has to be. Outside is just enough enclosed so one can chill after the sweating treatments and necessary cold showers. The kitchen and downstairs is cozy and adequate for a nice dinner after a long day out and heat treatments. Waking up in the main bedroom is definitely the highlight as there the view is really nice. The location is perfect for all sorts of hiking in various beautiful directions.
