The owners called us on the day of arrival, explaining everything, then sent a text with a summary of the information for later use (such as the door key lock box code). The place is within walking distance of a grocery shop on the main square, as well as one or two local restaurants (check the opening hours before going though). There are supermarkets in Ostrov, Nejdek or Karlovy Vary. As a starting point for local hikes, it is ideal, you can do 4-5 trails from the apartment without driving anywhere - Ryžovna, Jindřisské skály/Na Strašidlech, Blatenský vrch, Plešivec etc. The apartment is very nice, tastefully decorated and with very nearly everything you could wish for. The supplies of toilet paper and kitchen towels were not sufficient for a family of 4, but we re-stocked during a morning grocery store visit.

The mattress on the double bed was extremely soft, while two other mattresses were very hard. To be fair, we could have changed them but we just left the setup as it was not to mess it up. The (probably) wooden floors are quite loud, especially in the evenings. We were lucky to have neighbours upstairs for only a night or two, but the downstairs neighbours must still remember our creaking footsteps. Abertamy is a very small town, best not expect a range of different restaurants or fancy groceries. You get the basics there, then you need to do some driving to get anything extra.
