More communication about the retainer sum process at check-in. I was asked to hand over a credit card and wasn't given any further information about this. These places tend to believe it's "common nature" for residents to hand over cards and do whatever they want with it, but for me it is not. I had to ask twice what this was for and was given a very short answer about "the retainer". I later noticed a 960E retainer was being held. I would have liked to know this information beforehand, during or before the check-in process. Maybe i didn't read the Booking information about this properly beforehand.. At checkout the retainer fee is not freed immediately, in contrary to their claim. I had to ask by message to have this retainer freed approx 10 hours later, which they then immediately did. Other than this, the place is wonderful and the staff is VERY pleasant.

Quiet location, spacious rooms, staff are lovely, especially Wahn, great breakfast.

Lovely gardens & pool area. Chateau very interesting

Food at dinner was very very ordinary. Service amateurish
