The room whch was too small and too dark as were the dining room and bar

Beautiful property, absolutely gorgeous. Amazing rooms. Lovely night time porter there when we checked in… extremely welcoming and lovely guy. Breakfast very good and good staff there.

The front office staff need considerable training .. asking for tips and presenting me with card machine and asking.. ( we arrived at midnight and checked out at 11am!) We are not american we are Europeans .. this is not socially acceptable in Europe. We have also lived in France for two years and this isn’t the custom here. We had already pre paid the entire room and remaining was the room tax. The same individual who pretended to be busy on the phone when I tried to quickly check out, demanded I ‘wait’ then request a tip is not something I have experienced in any other 5 star hotel. The reception check out at a ‘5 star property’ needs some improvement to be seamless

Interesting "travel" theme. Comfortable and spacious room with terrace. Enjoyable grounds.

Room was quite dark. Too much tech was out of place in an historic building (electric drapes; auto toilet; complex lighting) Restaurant falls short of its pretensions. Food was adequate, service was weak. Disappointed to have a bottle of wine brought to the table opened. Doubly surprised by the waitress's lack of understanding of our concern.

The room and decor was amazing. The history of the building and surrounding land. Lovely pool. I think this property would be lovely to re visit in the autumn/winter months Amazed at the fancy toilet functions/options Plenty of choice for all dietary requirements at breakfast.

Found some staff to be blunt and ignorant. Sat in the bar and was ignored by five staff when waiting to order a drink. Later when requesting a cocktail was met with a response of ‘this is the last one I’m making’ @22:40hours. Reception staff were excellent. Lack of air con for size of room. Bathroom toiletries not checked. As no shower gel.
