Property was advertised as centre of Chateauneuf. It is 10km from chateauneuf in Roquemaure, the other side of the Rhone. Property has bunks for 14 (in 2 rooms), but only 1 shower/bath, 1 toilet, and kitchen diner space for?6. Host communicates with printed messages. More like a boarding school than guest House. 6 other guests arrived late and left early. Very unnerving .

The beds are comfortable and the person who's in charge has been very helpful. Very good (flexible) hours of arrival and check out. Located in in the town center, yet calm in the night. Very well equipped kitchen, big bathroom.
There is a bad smell coming up from the sink in the bathroom (although it's very clean).

There are a few reviews about this accommodation which we had read prior to booking but unfortunately Orange was booked out so we had no other option. I urge Booking.com however to take separate action as this apartment is not fit to accommodate guests. Do not be fooled by the photos - they were taken in wide angle - the apartment is much smaller. We were a group of 14 friends sharing 2 rooms, with another family who slept on the terrace (turned bedroom), with the couple who run this place sleeping in a closet - with 1 bathroom and 1 shower - very overcrowded under normal circumstances, let alone COVID-19. When we arrived for check-in, the owner had other guests over and she wasn't sure whether they were checking out on that day or staying for another night (which would have left us without accommodation even though we had pre-paid it) . We were asked to take off our shoes at the door which would have been perfectly acceptable had the apartment been clean! Their idea of cleaning between guests was sweeping the floors. The no shoes rule extends to the bathroom which is festering with clogged drains and grout that has colonies of mould growing - no one in their right mind would not wear shower shoes but the owner got angry at us for using rubber sliders and in fact these disappeared from the bathroom were they were left to dry. We were also expected to clean the shower room using a squeezer right after we showered – the water was black with grime and dust. The stink was also unbearable. The door was also open wide when we returned back at 2.30am. The rooms cannot be locked from the outside, no safes are provided either. No fans are available and only 2 sockets are available in each room which is meant to accommodate 7 persons.

The kitchen and bathroom were shared and with, what looks like semi-permanent residents. Not possible to keep a safe COVID distance. Bathroom was full of toiletries of others and not clean.

Shared sleeping accomodation!!! Not an appropriate surprise in covid times. Isolated location to then need to find new accomodation, no response from owners on refund request.
