Nos quedamos una sola noche en Kandy, el alojamiento está genial, es una habitación muy amplia y cómoda en casa de Ayesha. Ella es súper amable y hace que te sientas como en casa. Nos preparó una cena y un desayuno buenísimo y súper abundante. Nos contó la situación por la que pasaron con las inundaciones y que todavía persiste (por eso todavía no está operativo el tramo de tren de Kandy a Ella). Lo recomiendo mucho, ella y su marido son encantadores.

El acceso es un poco difícil (en cuesta), pero tiene unas vistas a la jungla increíbles.

De enorme gastvrijheid en het gevoel van welkom van Ayesha en Shiva was echt geweldig. Het zit fijn gelegen in het zuiden van Kandy. Dicht aan de A5, wat met onze tuk tuk fijn gelegen was voor onze route. Daarnaast hebben we de kookkunsten van Ayesha mogen ervaren, wat kan zij heerlijk koken! Ook de kamer was erg schoon en comfortabel. We kijken enorm dankbaar en fijn terug op ons verblijf!

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt im Chathu Holiday Home. Wir wurden so herzlich empfangen und haben uns wie Zuhause gefühlt. Außerdem wurden wir von unseren Gastgebern mit leckerem selbstgerechten Speisen verwöhnt. Auf unserer Sri Lanka Reise hatten wir hier das Beste Rice and Curry. Die Lage war für uns perfekt, etwas abseits der Stadt ohne Lärm und Trubel und schnell mit dem Tuk Tuk erreichbar. Wir können euch nur empfehlen, bei dieser netten Familie einzukehren. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und komfortabel. Es ist ein perfekter Standort um Kandy, den Zahntempel, Ambuluwawa Tower und Botanischen Garten zu sehen. Unsere Gastgeber haben uns geholfen, Fahrten zu organisieren und Tipps gegeben. Wir wollten überhaupt nicht wieder abreisen, so wohl haben wir uns gefühlt. Vielen Dank, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder wenn wir in Sri Lanka sind!

Alles war perfekt

The views from the property are stunning and the huge balcony allows you to be able to absorb this perfectly. The home cooked food the family provided on our 1st night stay was delicious and the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. There is also a really nice spacious communal area, which was ideal for us as we were travelling with friends and that divided our two rooms and gave us a place to all sit together to chat. However, be sure to pack toiletries such as shower gel as these were not provided.

Unfortunately we had no hot water for the duration of our stay at the property despite mentioning this to the owners - luckily we had to cut our stay in Kandy short so didn't stay the full 4 nights we had originally booked otherwise this would have been an even bigger problem than it was as freezing cold showers twice daily were not fun! Also this might just be a personal thing but when eating dinner the hosts stayed close by to the table just watching us eat which did make us slightly uncomfortable. Lastly my main disappointment here was that we were travelling with our Sri Lankan friends who were showing us their beautiful country (after them returning home to it after a number of years working abroad) and who are as close to us as family - However, on a couple of occasions they were made to feel uncomfortable by the hosts, being told that they don't usually accommodate 'locals' staying at the property and if they didn't like how things were they could leave. Our very polite and respectful friends did not mention this when it happened as they didn't not want us to feel uncomfortable or aggrieved on their behalf (as I most definitely would have been). So I would like to underline here that they were paying guests and as such deserved to be treated the same as any other paying guests and that behaviour towards them was both unwarranted, unkind and unacceptable. Also, just a heads up card payments are not accepted and you will need to have rupees or dollars available to pay your bill.
