The Nest - 9 The Landings

The flat is in a great location with a lovely view of the bay. The beach is opposite less than 50 yards away with parking available on the road outside. The flat (9) is very well equipped and was very clean on arrival with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. It is a no contact arrival but instructions given make entry very easy to negotiate.

The stairs leading to flat 9 which is on the top floor in the eaves are very steep which would be difficult for someone with walking difficulties who struggle on stairs. The bath is quite hard to climb into and I feel would benefit from a handle on wall to hold whilst climbing in and out of shower in bath, also maybe a bath Mat as when showering can feel a bit slippy underfoot.

We’ve stayed in Filey a few times and this was by far the best location we could hope for. Right on the seafront with free street parking outside (IF you can get a space). Everything was clean. Nice size and layout for four.

Upon arrival the cleaners were just finishing off (not a problem, we were 10 mins early) however they explained the front door handle to the apartment had broken and was unusable so it had been reported to the owner. After they left we were a little concerned no-one would arrive to fix it as it was already late friday afternoon. Closing the front door would have meant we’d be locked in - so had to constantly wedge it open and couldn’t go out anywhere which was a poor start to the holiday considering we only had booked 2 nights there. We tried to contact the owners ourselves using the emergency details - no reply. We spoke to booking .com and they eventually managed to arrange for a locksmith to come and fix the door urgently which we were very grateful for. What was very disappointing is that the next morning we had a reply for the owner. I’ve copied and pasted their exact reply below: ‘Sorry to hear that. We heard it was dodgy. We will arrange for it to be fixed but it probably will not hapoen thia weekend. Enjoy your weekend’ Absolutely flabbergasted! We have young kids! How were we expected to stay in the top floor attic apartment with no lockable front door?!

Nothing every thing was perfect

The view was lovely...The position is brilliant...The apartment has a bath...decent kitchen appliances...its very secure.

No coat hooks by the door, no shelf in the bathroom for toiletries, the blind in the bedroom is broken, the spotlight in the kitchen needs changing, the seats to sit on in the evening are very uncomfortable, the sofabed is dilapidated, stained and not fit for purpose, my daughter had awful backache in the morning and didn't sleep at all. All the chair/sofa cushions are as thin as wafers. These are all simple things that could be fixed/addressed.
