Restful and rejuvenating.

Camps bay retreat is a place that ticks all the boxes for frequent traveller's, and consistently delivers an outstanding service. The food was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the spa facilities. The fact that they are located within walking distance from the beach is primarily my main reason for returning. Highly recommend this place i.e. whether you choose one of the hotel rooms or pods, you will be spoilt for choice.

Always our go to place

The forest pods are always our go to place for a break a way. From the first moment you step into reception you meet the most friendliest and helpful staff. The pods have all you need for a quick breakaway. The forest is amazing! And the new spa massage spots in the glamping tents were the highlight of our stay. Best massage and treatment we have ever had.

Beautiful, tranquil retreat with friendly staff and delicious breakfast

Amazing place, great room, gorgeous grounds with natural pools, waterfall, rope swings, nature and wildlife. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. They left us cheesecake and chocolates in our room for our anniversary - thank you! Breakfast was incredible, the best avocado toast I’ve ever had. Afternoon complimentary scones too. Views were insane. Short walk to camps bay centre and beach. We will be staying again.

A cosy simple stay, with beautiful greenery and comfortable essentials.

I had a lovely stay at Camps Bay Pods. It was only one night for work. The first thing that struck me was the beautiful view of the hotel when you walk in, it really sets the tone. I didn’t realise at first that the forest pods are located on the property itself, down in their lush backyard, and I appreciated the simplicity and the greenery around me. My pod was compact and container-style, but the bed was comfortable and the space had everything I needed. I loved the tiny veranda outside to have a sit. The bathroom is teeny tiny very small, so if you are a big person it wouldn’t be too comfortable. I specifically chose it for the price point and the feeling of being surrounded by nature, and it matched my preference perfectly. I’m not a big fan of large hotels and prefer cosy, quiet rooms, so this worked well for me. The breakfast is lovely, with a choice of different cereals, fruits, croissants and pastries.

The only small notes I have are about the location of my pod (#1) It was quite close to the road and the beach, so I could still hear cars passing by. It wasn’t loud enough to disturb my sleep, but it’s not 100% “nature quiet.” I was also positioned next to their water JoJo tank, which wasn’t the most charming and in the morning I could hear some staff nearby. Overall, though, the setting is lovely, the concept is great, and the view of the hotel itself is beautiful. I enjoyed my stay and appreciated the cosy, simple atmosphere.

Great, green location on beautiful Camp's Bay

Lovely 1920s hotel, with beautiful grounds (trees, flowers, wildlife, pools, paths and places to sit) which I took advantage of during my stay. Fantastic situation, eating your tasty breakfast looking out over the ocean, or an evening meal to the sunset. Staff were attentive and friendly. Food was tasty and reasonably priced (for a Brit). I had a great time - thanks.

Left feeling vulnerable and disappointed

Staff were really nice and near camps bay.

I do not reccomend this for a solo female traveller. The pods are in fact converted shipping containers at the bottom of the hotel grounds wood. The door would not lock properly so maintenance came to fix it however it was still at risk of coming off the runners. The outdoor doors did not run properly and were quite heavy. It was by the road and the mains for the electric so it was noisy. The security guards were at the top of the hotel not near the pods. I found it cold inside even with the heater on. It also felt like a cell inside, it was quite claustophobic. The lamps were old. It was very disappoining and I did not sleep as I felt vulnerable. For the price there is a lot nicer guesthouses in the area.

Wonderful, beautiful, luxurious house and gardens

We had a forest pod in the grounds of the Camps Bay Retreat. The pod was lovely- small but well-equipped, extremely comfortable and with a beautiful wooden verandah. The grounds are gorgeous- full of wonderful Cape flora and fauna. We had head torches with us and they were very useful for negotiating the paths at night, but a phone torch would also suffice. The location is amazing - you can get to the beach in about 2 minutes, through a gate in the grounds. Camps Bay Retreat itself is magnificent - a beautiful 1929 house converted into a plush hotel. Breakfast on the terrace every day was a huge treat - delicious and we also had a couple of drinks every evening on the lawn to watch the wonderfully sunsets over the ocean. Our bar bill at the end was incredibly reasonable. The staff were extremely professional and skilled. If we return to Cape Town, and I so hope that we do, I would stay at the Camps Bay Forest Pod 100%. Thanks you for a wonderful stay.

Great location, lovely view. Breakfast and restaurant is really good

The pods are nice however there is a lack of privacy (no curtain). And the path to go down there is a bit tricky at night. I’ve had an incident with a staff member being on my balcony when I got out of the shower. The direction took it very seriously... but with no gesture. But they let the staff member working around and I bumped into him couple of minutes later, which made me really not confortable.

The best hotel in Camps Bay. Lovely breakfast and Spa, a forest in town

Camps Bay forest hotel never lets one down, this time around was even better, my partner had a emergency and needed an urgent assistance, the Hotel staff working at the that shift was exceptional, we were able to get an Ambulance and got rushed to the nearest hospital and all went well, thanks to the gentlemen that went above and beyond to help us. We'll never forget that, and that's an add on to the amazing hotel in Camps, my favorite spot. I've been there multiples times and I'll continue to be your guest. Cheers!!

The view from the main house is really beautiful. Nice private walking area. Great staff. Didn't stay long enough for breakfast but I know I would have enjoyed it looking into the ocean.😊

The Pod I was booked in, just at the back looks like a dumping/storage site, a bit ignored. Not nicely tidied up. Doesn't help that you have to walk through it to access the back gate to the beach. One feels the wood and everything could have been nicely tucked away. Front of the pod looking into the forest is perfect, but the back a bit disappointing. Also a great gesture for one of the staff to walk you down with your luggage but having to come all the way up with it yourself, now that was a challenge.

The location was beyond amazing, my room was in the pods (situated in the bushed) while i was a stone throw from the beach. Loved it!!!!!
