Great, green location on beautiful Camp's Bay

Lovely 1920s hotel, with beautiful grounds (trees, flowers, wildlife, pools, paths and places to sit) which I took advantage of during my stay. Fantastic situation, eating your tasty breakfast looking out over the ocean, or an evening meal to the sunset. Staff were attentive and friendly. Food was tasty and reasonably priced (for a Brit). I had a great time - thanks.

Left feeling vulnerable and disappointed

Staff were really nice and near camps bay.

I do not reccomend this for a solo female traveller. The pods are in fact converted shipping containers at the bottom of the hotel grounds wood. The door would not lock properly so maintenance came to fix it however it was still at risk of coming off the runners. The outdoor doors did not run properly and were quite heavy. It was by the road and the mains for the electric so it was noisy. The security guards were at the top of the hotel not near the pods. I found it cold inside even with the heater on. It also felt like a cell inside, it was quite claustophobic. The lamps were old. It was very disappoining and I did not sleep as I felt vulnerable. For the price there is a lot nicer guesthouses in the area.

Wonderful, beautiful, luxurious house and gardens

We had a forest pod in the grounds of the Camps Bay Retreat. The pod was lovely- small but well-equipped, extremely comfortable and with a beautiful wooden verandah. The grounds are gorgeous- full of wonderful Cape flora and fauna. We had head torches with us and they were very useful for negotiating the paths at night, but a phone torch would also suffice. The location is amazing - you can get to the beach in about 2 minutes, through a gate in the grounds. Camps Bay Retreat itself is magnificent - a beautiful 1929 house converted into a plush hotel. Breakfast on the terrace every day was a huge treat - delicious and we also had a couple of drinks every evening on the lawn to watch the wonderfully sunsets over the ocean. Our bar bill at the end was incredibly reasonable. The staff were extremely professional and skilled. If we return to Cape Town, and I so hope that we do, I would stay at the Camps Bay Forest Pod 100%. Thanks you for a wonderful stay.

Great location, lovely view. Breakfast and restaurant is really good

The pods are nice however there is a lack of privacy (no curtain). And the path to go down there is a bit tricky at night. I’ve had an incident with a staff member being on my balcony when I got out of the shower. The direction took it very seriously... but with no gesture. But they let the staff member working around and I bumped into him couple of minutes later, which made me really not confortable.

The best hotel in Camps Bay. Lovely breakfast and Spa, a forest in town

Camps Bay forest hotel never lets one down, this time around was even better, my partner had a emergency and needed an urgent assistance, the Hotel staff working at the that shift was exceptional, we were able to get an Ambulance and got rushed to the nearest hospital and all went well, thanks to the gentlemen that went above and beyond to help us. We'll never forget that, and that's an add on to the amazing hotel in Camps, my favorite spot. I've been there multiples times and I'll continue to be your guest. Cheers!!

The view from the main house is really beautiful. Nice private walking area. Great staff. Didn't stay long enough for breakfast but I know I would have enjoyed it looking into the ocean.😊

The Pod I was booked in, just at the back looks like a dumping/storage site, a bit ignored. Not nicely tidied up. Doesn't help that you have to walk through it to access the back gate to the beach. One feels the wood and everything could have been nicely tucked away. Front of the pod looking into the forest is perfect, but the back a bit disappointing. Also a great gesture for one of the staff to walk you down with your luggage but having to come all the way up with it yourself, now that was a challenge.

The location was beyond amazing, my room was in the pods (situated in the bushed) while i was a stone throw from the beach. Loved it!!!!!

Beautiful setting.

The telephone nr and address is incorrect on the confirmation so when you stop in front of the wrong address you can also not find out what the right address is because there is just one incorrect contact nr. The name "Camps bay Forrest pods" are also misleading. There is no such place! The venues' name is Camps bay retreat and neither the security at the gate, nor the manager knew that the "pod" is on their premises. The unit smelled like sewage! We had to keep the bathroom extractor on through the night with the outside bathroom door open and the interleading door closed and the smell still woke me up in the night. There are no plugs close to a mirror for blowing your hair. There were only one pillow each. Small things, but cumulatively resulted in a very bad experience.

Ein sehr schöner Kurzaufenthalt in einem wunderbaren,alten Hotel

Die Lage des Hotels hat uns gut gefallen, ebenso die Innenausstatung der alten Räume mit dem vielen Holz. Man konnte abends auf der Terrasse sein Dinner einnehmen und den Sonnenuntergang dabei beobachten. Das Essen war sehr lecker, ebenso das Frühstück, das Personal immer freundlich und hilfsbereit.Es gab auch einen kleinen Pool und einige Liegen. In dem großen Garten konnte man herrlich mit Blick aufs Meer relaxen. Das Zimmer war über einige Holzstiegen erreichbar und lag mitten im Grünen.

Das Zimmer an sich war sehr klein und spartanisch eingerichtet, nicht sehr komfortabel, aber für 1 Nacht war es ganz ok.

Die Lage ist unfassbar schön. Jeden Morgen den Blick auf das Wasser 😍 Alles war ganz wunderbar.

Unser Zimmer war zwar sehr schön, aber leider etwas klein. Und unsere Terrasse war permanent mit Blättern bedeckt und die Vögel hinterließen ihren Unrat. Wir konnten die Terrasse so nicht nutzen, war aber nicht so schlimm, da wir besser auf der Hauptterrasse sitzen konnten!

Pequeña habitación en Camps Bay en complejo de lujo

El alojamiento se encuentra dentro de un gran complejo de carácter colonial con un hotel espectacular, múltiples piscinas y desayuno excelente. Además tiene cancha de pádel. La atención del personal desde la bienvenida, con tragos, fue excepcional, así como también los trabajadores del desayuno y bar. La ubicación muy buena con vista al mar desde el hotel y desayuno.

La habitación de los forest pods son unos containers que están lejos del hotel principal, hay que bajar una larga escalera, con un espacio muy pequeño incluso para abrir dos maletas. El baño es un poco más grande que uno de avión ya que tiene ducha. No tiene calefacción, y pasamos un poco de frío en la noche. Ademas por fuera pasan múltiples trabajadores durante el día y no hay mucha privacidad salvo que uno cierre la puerta del container. Cuando nos hicieron la habitación llegamos en la noche y habían dejado todas las ventanas completamente abiertas, perfecto para que entraran los mosquitos.
