Shelly’s home is 100% as advertised. All photos and descriptions are accurate. The home is warm as well-appointed. The kitchen was well-stocked with all things needed to cook for and serve group dinners. Spa and pool area is very clean and cozy as a hangout spot. Location is super convenient to shopping, beach and restaurants. Ample parking for our fours cars in driveway and on street.
Shelly is an awesome host. She was timely and complete in all her communication. Check-in/out was easy. We appreciated her extra touches; detailed instruction booklet on house appliances and electronics, large air mattress with pump, Bluetooth speaker and Nespresso machine. Thanks Shelly, you’re the type of host that makes us come back to again and again!

We recently stayed in Shelly’s home for the holidays and her place was decorated to the nines, all we had to do was bring in gifts and place them under the tree and we were ready to go for Christmas. The house was exactly as described and appointed with all the amenities we needed. Great location and wonderfully responsive host who was very accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in great comfort and we would definitely recommend this home.

Private South OC Oasis, this property is a gem! The home is spacious with an incredible kitchen including a coffee and wine bar, comfortable beds, gorgeous tiered backyard with outdoor fireplace on the lower level and a fabulous pool and spa on the upper level. I loved waking up to the partial ocean view each morning in the master suite, which by the way has an amazing shower! It seemed like we were on vacation, in a private villa, when in reality we were staying there due to being displaced from our own home while repairs were taking place from a slab leak. It’s not easy trying to find a home that’s adequate to house a large family, not to mention a large family with dogs! The owners were understanding of our situation and we are grateful that they accepted our rental request.

This home was amazing and the owners very friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and spa with user friendly operation software, fully stocked kitchen with so many extras beyond your typical b&b, and the creative Italian design elements. The backyard is very private with beautiful landscaping and so many hummingbirds and butterflies. The fountain sets the tone for a peaceful retreat. So close to the beach and restaurants- and the owners even give eatery and other area recommendations. Would book again!

From the moment we arrived at Villa Catalia,we realised this was not your typical Holiday let, more of a home from home, clean and tidy with lots of little touches to welcome guests.Shelly and Mark have provided pretty much everything needed to make theirs guests stay a comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable one.Travelling from the UK visiting family in Dana Point for many years this was the first time we have rented a property, it was so nice to have somewhere to relax, enjoy the sun and entertain family.The house is very well presented, comfortable beds and bedrooms, lovely bathrooms and ensuites, the kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to entertain, with a lovely breakfast bar, dining room and lounge area.The outside space and garden area is lovely for dining alfresco on the patio surrounded by the scent of the roses, the pool and spa on the upper level of the garden was amazing with pool toys provided.We did not get the opportunity to take up the offer of a cruise on their 'baby yacht' this trip, but there will be other opportunities when we are back in Dana PointEverything was exactly as described, Shelly and Mark were wonderful hosts, we always knew that they were at the end of the phone should we need them and nothing was too much trouble, we really did not want to leave. The property was meticulously clean, well appointed with everything you could need, beautiful and very comfortable! We stayed here for our son’s wedding. We had 8 adults in our party and it was very comfortable. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and a perfect backdrop for some lovely pictures. We hosted some friends and family for a small gathering on the back patio that was a big hit. Everyone commented on what a great house it was. We could have been happier and would highly recommend this place. You can’t go wrong with the house and the host!

This is a beautiful home with an amazing backyard. It has an large patio area with a pool and hot tub. Plenty of room with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Home is decorated in an fun Italian theme. Great communication with the property manager. Located in a quiet neighborhood. Will definitely be back!
