We really have to give a totally honest review - Maria's place was great - a view over the Bay of Naples and on a clear day we could see the island of Ischia. Maria produced a lovely breakfast in the morning. Local fruit and fresh orange juice. Gorgeous bread rolls and provolone cheese with fresh local tomatoes. Yoghurt and coffee - all in the outdoor garden with the view. On our first night Maria took us to the restaurant next door to introduce us to the owner in case we needed something to eat - fantastic experience. Sadly Maria had no English and my Italian is little better than schoolboy stuff - but eventually I discovered Google translate which helped!

Sadly the building is high up in the hills above Anacapri and the pathways are only about 5 feet wide so no transport is possible (the locals use motor scooters which zip up and down the narrow lanes)... It is supposed to be a 10 minute walk into the Piazza Vittoria but this is a little optimistic and the uphill hike back is certainly not for the aged or infirm. Unfortunately we visited at the height of summer with temperatures of 38C (100F) and very high humidity which made the trek back up to the house quite difficult. A warning - taxis cannot get to the house so it is quite a trek if you have a lot of luggage.
