Beautiful & relaxed detached Mother-in-Law suite. Close to I80 & Fairgrounds

Great communication with host, lovely property

The hosts were great, check-in was a breeze even though we got there earlier than expected. The property is beautiful and not far from plenty of great restaurants and attractions.

The title is how my wife and I described it once we got settled in, sitting on the bed and taking it in. Prior to that, we had met the owner and he was great. Happy, energetic (despite the biting cold), and polite. He walked us back and showed us around. He showed us the backyard briefly (cold) and it was beautiful, night and day. He showed us the inside, where things were, how to set things up. He even turned on the heater for us. Fair warning, it can get very cold in there. There are plenty of heaters and blankets, though. He then gave us recommendations for dinner, including a list he sent to us and left us to our night. Due to a busy weekend, we didn't see him after that but he was easy to contact and we never heard them or loud noises at all. It was a great "comfy cozy" stay!

The property is exactly what it says in the description. It’s attached to the house with a separate entrance. however, the doors within the space cannot be locked from inside, which made us feel uncomfortable because the owners could enter the space anytime. We arrived on a Saturday to find a pool party going on. It was uncomfortable to have to unload our luggage while people were drinking and partying. When I considered renting this VRBO I read in the reviews another person complained of the same thing. I hoped that the owner would have changed based on that review. It is just one room and a small bathroom that has a noisy fan that runs all night. The fan was good placed on a high shelf so it could not be reached to turn off. The main reason we chose a VRBO was to have a fridge and a place to rest that was not a hotel. This was definitely not private, actually it was the same as staying in a hotel with people walking by your door. The fridge is really small and loud. The parking is limited and you have to work around whatever car is parked in the driveway. They were doing construction in the backyard so there were more cars and people there. We come every year for the state horse show and I will not be staying here again. Besides the fore mentioned issues, the property ended up costing twice what the advertised price. We were charged extra for a cleaning fee, however our room was not cleaned once during our four day stay nor did we ever receive new towels.
